how bad were the contractions as you were going into labor? were they manageable? ttm ☺
wow! 5 hours is not bad at all lol. I'm staying active and eating healthy so hopefully that helps @mrsmord
@badgalmalika, it helps a lot with labor and makes it bearable and shorter - I know someone who's actively in shape , her first labor was only 5 hours long and she did it natural ! And she had easy pregnancies too - and kept in shape throughout
so does exercising like help with the baby being able to come out faster? lol @mrsmord
@badgalmalika, always chose walking lmao I was lazy af with both my pregnancies that's why my labors were tough
@badgalmalika, lmao ur supposed to squeeze ur vagina . It gets confusing but if u feel ur butt getting tight then ur not doin it lmao
I've been trying to do them but like I feel like its just squeezing my butt whole instead lol @mrsmord
@badgalmalika, I was there 2 days afterwards I was walking around cleaning and nesting. It's a easier recovery of you have them all natural well for me anyway. I only pushed for my last two pregnancies for less then a min and bam...they were out. Plus they tried to discharge me the same day I had her. She was born really early in the morning at 6:54 am
@badgalmalika, it's inevitable . It'll either happen to a point where it's a severe tear or a mild one . Apparently kegels help lol
I went in on Thursday had her on Friday, and left on Sunday, but apparently I had to stay another night because I had group b strep with her, and they keep you an extra 24 hours to monitor baby. But I thought they kept everyone 2 days minimum. So I stayed the two nights, but I've heard of people only having to stay one.
I went in Saturday afternoon got out Thursday at noon it's painful but so worth it !
wow I pray that's me lol, I've watched videos and some girls were like pushing for so long they were getting out of breath @reaganmommy2015 how long was your recovery?
@badgalmalika, no my third with my last two pregnancy so had both all natural no drugs they came to fast
lol I know I'll need medicine , was this with your first child? @reaganmommy2015
@badgalmalika, nope I was all natural I went into active labor really fast
did you have a longer stay in the hospital from the c section? like I'm waiting for June to come but I'm also dreading it because of the pain 😂 @mrscruz0530
I'm glad too because I wouldn't of known anything lol. how long were you in the hospital after you delivered? @their.bomb.ass.mom
No problem anything can happen ! They knew she was face up the whole time and said its harder to deliver when they're in that position but it can be done that's why we kept going but the fact that we couldn't get her past my pubic bone is why we had to do c section the dr said since my body frame is small that if I did want to have more kids to have a c section and not try vaginally because it would be too much on my body my baby was small so I can't imagine trying with a bigger baby
😂😂 yup! I used warm water in the little squirt bottle and air dried and then when it got a little better I could pat dry! I'm just saying I'm glad you're asking all these questions, not just to me but to everyone because I was not prepared for any of it at all, and now at least you'll have some sort of idea!
@mrscruz0530, wow that's intense! thanks for sharing. and I know pregnancy can be crazy so thank you for sharing. where they monitoring your babies position once u got in there?
I pray I don't need stitches and yes the itch can be annoying lol and I won't want to why I feel like that would burn more. so you just like squirt the water and air dry? 😂 @their.bomb.ass.mom
lol how far does this squirt bottle go up? and what does it do, is their like medicine in there or just cold water @mrm83015
Don't want to scare you but here's my story....Mine weren't so bad at first I actually waited to go to the hospital till my contractions were 3-4 minutes apart I was already dilated to 6 cm and 80% effaced I got the epidural at 8 cm because the contractions were back to back and I couldn't take it any more I'm glad I did because I went in at 4:30 I was 10 cm at around 9:30 started pushing at 10 and I pushed for hours until about 4:30 am with a few breaks in between I was feeling the contractions again too then they finally told me i was going to have a c section she wouldn't pass my pubic bone and she was facing my vagina vs my butt and my body was already going into shock and went I had the surgery I felt what they were doing to where I was yelling in pain it wasn't a very good labor experience but it was all worth it my body was so exhausted after it all and recovering from it is tough but my baby is here safe !
@badgalmalika, yeah goodluck ! Usually with the first baby it's alittle harder - my first son I pushed for 40 minutes it was bad and I got the episiotomy . After the first baby I didn't have any back issues but after the second yeah my back hurts sometimes from it and it sucks but I don't regret getting it for a second
No problem! Some girls get mad when they ask me and I say things like that thinking I'm trying to scare them, but in reality everyone sugar coated everything about labor to me so I wasn't given any real information. And yes and no, they give you a squirt bottle for down there, and that helps tremendously since even if you don't get stitches I'm sure it'll be super sore and you won't want to really wipe, so I would use that to keep it clean. I had to lean forward when I peed or else it stung, 😩 but other than that everything was okay! The worst part was when the stitches were healing and it was super itchy.
@badgalmalika, I had a few stitches but when you pee it BURNS. They should give you a squirt bottle and some spray to make it feel better down there. I could only use the squirt bottle because I was allergic to the spray. And I had practice pushes which was like 5 and when she started crowning they went and got my doctor and probably took about 7 more. Once your babies shoulders is out the baby kind of just slides out. I bleed for 2 weeks after.
I hope it takes me just 5 pushes lol I want my epidural to ease off after birth 😂. did you have any back pain from the epidural? @mrsmord
walking was very difficult right after labor bit they pretty much made me walk to the bathroom literally right after they took my son to be washed up and checked i wasn't able to use the bathroom tho i was swollen down there had to have a catheter used on me for the first day... peeing for the first week after labor is the most painful shit... i had stitches and it burned so bad
They weren't that bad until I had to sit in the car. Omg ouch. But like @their.bomb.ass.mom said, recovery is way way worse.
thanks for keeping it real that's what I need lol and oh no I hope the epidural doesn't do that to me 😯. did it hurt when you went to the bathroom afterwards? @their.bomb.ass.mom
Yeah it was actual hell . I do not miss pregnancy because that would mean I'd have to go through that shit again for the third time and it's not cool. Lmao the epidural kind of wore off during the actual pushing part and it wasn't as bad as the contractions it was very easy thank gd it took 5 pushes . And I felt a second of pain the head came out so that wasn't so terrible really but the 12 or whatever hours I was screaming of pain yeah that was shit.
Obviously not trying to scare you, but I'll be real about it. Recovery is the worst part. I had a 2cd degree tear so I had a few stitches and as soon as all the drugs wore off I felt like I got hit by a truck. I was sore and tender, everywhere for weeks, and my back where I got the epidural was sore for a few months. But, it's manageable. I know all that sounds awful, and I probably didn't help with you being nervous, but it gets better, that's just what you have to keep in mind. Definitely take advantage of all the pads they give you at the hospital they're the best, and make sure you're stocked up on them as well because you'll bleed usually for 4-6 weeks after. The recovery process is only so bad because it lasts so long. You can manage though, I know if I did, anyone can! 😂
oh no all he'll would break lose lol I need them to be on time with the epidural. I'm a pussy when it cones to pain so your not the only one 😂. did you feel pain or burning when the baby was coming out? and how many pushes did it take u? @mrsmord
im not sure what pain meds they gave me... they made me really high at first until the contractions got really bad.. it want very effective once i got closer to time to push... @mrm83015
your a trooper. after delivery were you able to walk around and use the bathroom and stuff? @crixxy
At first they were manageable but as it progressed I couldn't handle it at all I was crying everytime I felt it approaching and I cried and screamed like someone was murdering me and I wished I would die lmao literally I actually said those words . And it was a busy day at labor and delivery so I went hours without anyone helping or giving me the epidural I was actually dying . I don't think I could've done the whole thing natural it isn't for me . Yup I'm a pussy but labor isn't something most people can handle .
yeah they nummed me down there when they cut me.. the contractions still sucked but it didn't hurt down there when my son came out
I'm so scared for contractions and labor & delivery lol this is my first pregnancy. how was the after care? like did it birth at all after the epidural wore off and once u gave birth @their.bomb.ass.mom
lol I can't believe the nurse threw it behind the bed 😂. did you tear at all? or feel any burning? @mrm83015 and how long did it take for you to push the baby out
I liked not having a ton of the epidural because I could still feel when to push, which helps a lot, and I went into labor the day before but had her on her due date.
lmao yeah natural isn't for me either. I'd die from the pain, I want to atlest be numb but still be able to push and get the baby out in enough time. did you deliver before your due date? @their.bomb.ass.mom
@badgalmalika, yes it worked. They give you a button to push if you start feeling them. And I was about to push it but my nurse took it and threw it behind my bed and told me it was time to push. So I felt some but not much. @crixxy what was it? Because they only offered me epidural
I knew the whole time I was pregnant with my first I'd be getting the epidural, as well as I'll be getting it again this time. I probably could've done without it, but between zero sleep and the contractions I needed something for the pain and I was exhausted. I have a pretty decent pain tolerance, but I just couldn't. Especially once they progressed and were closer together, it was just back to back to back, no break. I can say I didn't have so much of the epidural that I felt absolutely nothing, because I still felt labor and pushing. But I needed something to take the edge off the contractions for sure. Obviously a natural birth can be done, but it definitely isn't for me. 😂
epidural isn't the only pain relief they offer i didn't get one but they gave me pain meds periodically through my iv
I'd die without medicine my pain tolerance is high lol. how was birthing? did you feel pain like did the epidural work ?
@badgalmalika, I got an epidural at 6 1/2cm I could've went longer without it tbh. But they just made me uncomfortable and I didn't wanna wait until I couldn't take it anymore because you can't get one after 8cm
@badgalmalika, hopefully it does !
