important Question after this long post, so bear with me: yesterday at work i start having chest pain, shortness of breath and fluttering in my chest. I'm fine I'm happy I'm working just not feeling right. i get home and soak in the tub, my feet and ankles are swollen but I'm happy to be off them after a double shift. i go lay in the bed and my fingers and arm go completely numb. I'm light headed and then the numbness moved to my face. i wait a bit and it feels like the right arm had the circulation cut off and i can't lift it above my shoulder. i went to the ER, immediately get an EKG but the er is packed. talk to a PA, let her know I've got a history of mini stroke/TIA, she said I'm pretty young for that, but my family had heart and stroke issues that start in their 30s and ive been told my last TIA was caused by auto immune disorder. this pissed me off, i know many people my age who have had actual strokes, whatever. she wants my vitals right away but she can't find the nurse so she sends me to the waiting room nurse who places me back in the waiting room but doesn't update where i am in the system. hours go by I'm still doing badly. my fiancé asks what is up, they admit they lost me, but they are so busy they aren't taking people. they turn away a 2nd trimester woman who is having severe abdominal pain and multiple other people in really bad shape. we decide if we are not being seen anyways we will go wait it out at home and call an ambulance if it gets that bad. today my arm is still weak and hurting, I'm still short of breath, but not as bad, and a few symptoms have subsided. my shoulder really hurts as if i have had a rubber band too tight and squeezing off the blood flow. the pain is actually worse. should i go back to the ER and get checked out or wait and go to the doc after work tomorrow? I don't feel like sitting all day in an ER but I am very worried. help?
