what do the babies first movements feel like? ive googled it and not really satisfied with the odd descriptions ive read like butterflies or bubbles because ive been feeling so many different things in my stomach ever since i got pregnant , but there is one feeling in particular i get mostly at night its like a sudden tickling in either side of my lower stomach like near my hip bones kinda . i giggle everytime i feel it . my mom has been prego five times and cant give a description beyond somethings moving inside you and she has no idea what these tickling feelings are but she dont think its movement .

I've been told that a very light tickle or flutter is most likely movement. if you feel it in your lower stomach it is more than likely the baby and if you feel it around your ribs it is probably just gas.

@sophia8937, it's hard to describe... You know when you feel gas bubbles inside your stomach kinda like that but lower and more subtle... Don't worry you'll start to be able to tell the difference soon

I never really felt flutters, or I'm sure I did but I didn't know. but at around 17-18 I'd feel little taps a few times a day!

@whitneym i feel like theres gas inside my stomach all the time my stomach is doing flips trying to digest. so that would be pretty hard to tell :0 @madison1497 maybe my babies too small to tell because im 18 weeks but barely showing!

Hmmm well try drinking something sweet and cold and lay on your left side and be really still. You may feel something! I think I could start to tell the difference between everything at about 19 weeks but only if I was sitting or laying down lol

@whitneym, oh gosh creative idea i mean i do feel a lot of things i also hear a lot of things like every few seconds its like a busy city in there maybe ive been feeling the baby moving for a long time but keep dismissing it as digestion

@sophia8937, yeah they do move a lot! I was small too and felt him when I was where you are. Lol but they first big movements are the best haha

@sophia8937, that takes just a few more weeks unfortunately. You'll feel him/her because he/she is inside you lol but for the kicks or punches to be strong enough to be felt on the outside take little longer. I would say around week 21 or 22 he should feel movement.

I feel taps alot and hes trying to show hes there now and I am only 24 weeks and 6 days but been feeling taps since 20 weeks.

you could possibly be feeling the baby move every women is different we all dont feel the baby move at the same time i felt my baby at 14 weeks. i always felt my baby girl move on my left side and it did feel like a ticklish kinda little pop :)

I would compare them to gas when I would first get them lol but like everyone says it feels like little pops in your belly.
