ok, I get it, our mothers can really tap dance on our last nerves right? my mom irks my whole life…

and I do realize that all situations are different and I don't mean to offend! I'm not judging, just a thought

I don't trash talk my mom. but my father drives me insane. I was and often am the monster in me and my moms relationship I don't know how she puts up with me sometimes. if my child got mad and said some rude stuff I think I'd understand people just get frustrated with others. I expect my child to tell me they hate me, wish they was adopted etcetera. I'd feel like I've done my job as their mother they aren't always going to adore me. And a child expressing anger at their parents psychologically means that they trust their parents.

@jadestarlight, wait what? you'd be ok with and EXPECT your child to say they hate you...? 🤔 Ive been extremely upset with both my parents and I also trust my mom and dad and have never wished I was adopted? of course I've been upset with my parents, and of course I haven't always adored them, that's not the point I'm making. it's rude to trash talk your mom or dad on the Internet to people you don't know who can't help the situation at all is what I'm saying. you'd be hurt to find out your kids are complaining about you on the Internet is what I'm saying. I really truly can't believe you just said you expect your kids to say they hate you. like I'm really flabbergasted at that comment

uhhh yeah I said I hate my dad before..i really don't like him but he's the one I didnt have trust with but my mother I never said that to or about her and trusted her very much......so idk about that comment lol. and I regret saying I hate my dad too after all he's done for me. I wouldn't go as far as saying its normal and its expected cause you just really shouldn't be saying that lol. but whatever to each its own.

I've heard expressed by children multiple times in anger. it's basically a verbal tantrum especially with teenagers not getting their way. saying words in anger you do not mean but simply to hurt the other. what's normal to some is abnormal to others.

@jadestarlight, lol yup you sure are right! expecting your child to say they hate you is very abnormal to me. not the fact that they've said it, but the fact that you expect them to say it is the strange part. I'm not oblivious to tantrums and realistically I know my child will dislike me at times, but no matter what I will never expect them to tell me they hate me. so we can just leave it at that, because I don't agree with you and I personally think that's a sad mind state to have
