I was told by the jobcentre that a pregnant women even tho their partner is working may be able to claim housing benefit but also if ur partner is working and u go onto maternity leave u are likely able to claim esa if ur not receiving any other money for ur self hope this information helps u hun xx

I worried too, will only get statutory and work for a charity so wages are crap! To prepare I've been really strict with myself, look at what comes in what must go out and what I can have each week. if I allow myself £30 a week and no more, I finish the month on credit (after getting out of OD) I know it sounds pretty boring but planning your meals and sticking to a shopping list really helps (I can't do this so hubs goes to supermarket) there are lots of tips on the Internet too. As for benefits you'll get child allowance (don't know what it's called now) but as you both work i don't think you qualify for benefits, but do check because I don't know much about them. Most importantly, try not to worry too much about it hun, easier said than done xXx

me and my OH work full time and they only thing I get is child working tax, think it's about £80 a month or you can do weekly payments, we rent and we get no help whatsoever, it's a shame when we await the one's that should deserve a little help,when I go back to work it's going to cost around £150 a month for a day in a nursery for my little one. it's a shame xx

I was in the exact same position but you just get through it so try not to worry to much. you'd be surprised how much you manage on next to nothing when you have to and it isn't that bad honestly. I'm sure you will work it out, we just get on with it were used to us now! you'll find that there's loads of little things you can cut back on to save that little bit extra. but stressing yourself out won't change the situation so try and relax and just take it as it comes xx
