if my dog gets wayyyy to anxious I give him one benadryl (he's 120lbs so one diphenhydramine dose is safe. 5lbs per 5 mgs) and 15 minutes later he's calm. if it's a chronic thing though I'd ask a vet for permanent treatment. I love doggies good luck :)

My dog has severe anxiety. we did a behavioral consult and have him on Zoloft every day and xanex when he is really bad. Zoloft has helped alot. I work with him every day and he has come a long way from the feral dog we adopted! ((: you just have to be super patient and keep up with slowly getting him to work on his anxiety. like if crowds stress him out, avoid those areas and slowly get him used to one or two people and work from there. my dog for example is afraid of everything especially people, cars, noises etc so we would bring him out to our front lawn every few hours it took months but now we get him to actually go the bathroom out front versus the park like he is comfortable with. Yes one of my dogs has anxiety. Thunder shirts are great but when she gets really bad the vet gave us xanax for her.
