@norcalmomma, something like that. Lol. I do it in the mornings sometimes when I'm really tired and he's fussy and wants to just keep nursing. U can try it laying on your side and baby laying next to you facing and they'll just latch as a reflex.

@norcalmomma, lol you got lucky mama!! I had plenty of colostrum that pretty muc went to waste because he wouldn't latch and it took us the first month to perfect it and I still catch him pursing his lips.lol. Have you tried dream feeding? If he's doing well I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem .. Instead of waking him up try to get him to latch while asleep and do as you normally would. I would have loved to be able to do that cuz it would take 20 minutes to latch with all the crying and fussing and unlatch after 5 minutes and an hour of nursing and then an hour to get him back to sleep .. Lol.

My Lil man is a breastfeeding king! He does awesome but is super hard to wake up when that 2-3 hour mark is up. If he doesn't nurse I have to pump it's so painful to be so full!

@norcalmomma, I had an unplanned c-section and completely agree with all of the above. Although I just let my girls hang out and they stopped being sore as soon as baby learned to latch correctly. If I could add to your list, because of surgery I found that my maternity pants and any soft/stretchy/non- elastic pants and underwear were best with the incision, make sure to have the nurses give you the orthopedic wrap for the torso,it was a god-send for when I had to go out the first two weeks), socks/shoes/slippers that may be a little loose for the swelling and easy to put on/take off, I found it easiest to keep clothes/diapers for the baby in our room so I didn't have to walk, dry shampoo and baby wipes for when you don't want to hurt just to shower or don't have the time, and plenty of pillows to support your back and the baby when holding /cuddling/feeding, unfortunately I couldn't find anything to help with the constant itch after being in surgery because it's not the skin that's itching ..

For me: Vaginal delivery- Kotex over night pads, spray bottle(provided by hospital), numbing spray(I sprayed the inside of my Kotex and its helping the stitches) or numbing ointment, TUX for hemroids, Sitz bath, disposable breast pads, cloth diapers(mostly for the other leaking breast while nursing), loose sports bra or comfy tanks(anything tight is super painful but a little snug holds the breast pad and is easy to lift up to nurse), lactation consultants phone number and email (my milk came in and I thought I was going to die! Ouch!), breast pump even if you're breastfeeding in case of engorgement, milk storage bags just in case to save that liquid gold(bags seem to store easier), mybrestfreind pillow(look it up its a lifesaver), and nipple cream!!!
