How long did your 35 weekers stay in nicu? She got her lung steroid shots at 29 weeks.
no you will be able to hold her no problem and the breastfeeding inside the womb that develops between34-36 weeks so your baby might take a little longer to get the hang of it but you will be able to breastfeed..stay strong you gotta be positive for your little one so they can grow faster
@jwaits, im sorry that you're going through that, but thank you so much for sharing, it really helps to ease my mind. If they let you hold her after three days at 10 weeks early, they should let me hold mine not to long after right? I don't want her to think I abandoned her, I'm so scared.
@bree.herrera, i plan to breastfeed. Do you know how long it'll take for them to decide if she's healthy enough to meet me?
my daughter is in nicu you will be sblebto see your baby and if they are stable you can hold them and do skin to skin but it depends on how well the baby is doing.. i didnt get to hold my daughter for 3 days after birth and it wasnt skin to skin i had to wait for her to be more stable then i could..but mine was born 10 weeks early
Also I recommend breastfeeding if you can, & if you're comfortable with it, especially since she is coming early.
You'll meet her, and it just really depends on her health when she comes and that goes for all babies even full term. But for skin to skin I'm pretty sure they'll most likely encourage you do that. Hope all goes well and she comes out healthy. How's her heart rate?
@bree.herrera, she's not here just yet, and I'm trying to make the labor go as slowly as possible, but I'm really worried. Will I at least get to see/hold her when she's born? That skin to skin is so important especially for preemies and I'm just so scared they won't let me meet her for a few days.
It's kinda hard to tell I don't want to give you false hope, but just listen for that full on blown cry when she comes out. I had a lady come in 3 weeks ago at 35 weeks and her baby was doing really good just had jaundice we had to keep an eye on. Are you in active labour?
