Has anyone decided not to breastfeed before giving birth? I have severe anxiety and want to be put back on meds. If I decide to breastfeed, I can't. I know it's better for the baby but I can't begin to be a good mommy if I'm having panic attacks while attempting to breastfeed. If I decide not to will they give the baby formula in the hospital or will I at least breastfeed for the first few days?
Also, make sure you have some stocked up at home if that's what you're going to do! that way you don't have to worry about it.
they will follow what you want to do, if you want to formula feed they will give you formula, if you want to breastfeed they will support that... having your baby fed is what is best for you no matter your decision
you should not feel bad for the decisions you make regarding YOUR child! a fed baby, is a happy, healthy baby... no matter if it's formula or breast! I formula fed my twins because well... I was 14 and had to go back to school... I didn't want to focus on pumping and everything... but this time around I am going to try breast feeding. the decision is yours mama! Nobody else will be living your life but you!
@rachelhoffmans, yes but if you have a specific brand you want bring that they just order pre made ones.
they give the baby formula immediately in the hospital if u choose not to breast feed. I've decided not to because I just don't have enough time in the day being I have so much to do with 5 other kids but I've also never breast fed any of them
So they'll provide formula in the hospital if I'd rather just use that? @whitneym
They have bottles for baby in the hospital! But you can also bring your own if you'd like. They provide little premade formula bottles, you can get the same ones at Walmart.
Make sure you let them know ahead of time (:
