Why. Why do they make the process so extremely expensive and difficult to adopt. I want more children, and so does my husband, but, I hated the whole "being pregnant" part. There are so many babies who need homes. Why make it $40,000 +? I understand the massive amounts of paperwork and background checks. That's all understandable. Come stay with me a month if necessary! But, even getting our hands of the proper paperwork is ridiculous. And, of course, the cost is outrageous. It breaks my heart into a million pieces thinking about all those children (especially the older ones.) who have been in the system and probably won't get out until they are 18yr old and then they have to fend for themselves. This is what's wrong with this country (among other things..). These kids probably feel like nobody cares, but, they probably don't understand that so many people don't have $50,000 grand for adoption right away, and that can take a handful of years to save up. The base is $40 grand, plus there are numerous $50-$100 fee's for filing paperwork, and then the travel to get the child. And, another thing! Why can people get loans to open a business, buy a home, or a car, ect...yet, there is no lone for adoption? Ugh. Sorry for my rant- it's just depressing.
