i feel bad for this but i think i need to start giving my daughter formula, especially once i start working....i dont pump enough, ill stipl breastfeed as long as i can when i have time, plus She'll be coming with me to work so it'll be easier
i have a manual one and i barely get an oz @meagansimone
@supermom1104, try pumping after your morning feed. That's nwhen you have the most milk. How much do you get while pumping? Some women don't have a good pump response. a manual puml kr hand expressing could work better. Also if you look at pictures of your baby, it helps to trigger a letdown.
@supermom1104, do what's best for you and your baby and don't feel bad about it. Everyone's lifestyle is different. I stopped breastfeeding and switched to formula due to supply issues and my daughter throwing up my milk due to my diet and I wasn't able to pinpoint what I was eating. We are much happier now and sleeping better :-)
no she gets enough, i dont think its low, i should drink more water though but im all for natural stuff so im scared to try fenugreek(heard it can decrease supply) i dont take any meds i just feel like ill have to do so much to keep track of it all pumping takes so much time but i love breastfeeding, she wont even take a bottle @gypsy.soul2
Baby could also be hitting a growth spurt and cluster feeding. the only true way to know if your supply is low is going off diaper count.
something to try; pumping after every feed.. about 20min.. it's called power pumping.. also look at your diet and water intake and look into lactation cookies and fenugreek 3x daily.. doesn't make you smell the best but it helps some women lol. are you taking any medicines ? @supermom1104 you've done a great job so far.. breastfeeding is very hard sometimes
i ALWAYS have her latched, doesnt change how much i produce, some days i wake up with more but rarely,i had a friend who breastfed up until a year supplementing formula so i know everyone's different but idk its going to be hard to work and keep breastfeeding when i only produce enough for her @gypsy.soul2
formula will kill your supply it expands babies tummy bc babies have a hard time breaking down formula due to its processed material. you may not have a good pump response bc a lot of women just dont.. or your parts need changing such as your flanges in particular especially if it's a medela.. breastfeeding is ALL supply and demand so if you latch baby more often then your supply will produce more for babies needs.. @supermom1104
The more formula you give baby, the less your body will produce. There's tons of tips that may help you produce more, if that's what you're interested in doing.
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
Should I let my x know when labor starts
prego mommies who are working when did you tell your job you were pregnant??? I started a new job today and I wanted to know the right time I will be 14 weeks tomorrow and I'm already starting to show so I'm not sure how much longer I can hide it
Maybe try an electric pump? And power pumping will help increase. 15 on 10 off 10 on 10 off 10 on 10 off and do that every 2 to 3 hours
