I will post this for everyone to see:

If you read in any baby book, or more specifically "What to expect when you're expecting", or "your pregnancy week by week" you will see there is a section dedicated to TEA.

The book states that pregnant women should avoid GREEN TEA. The reasoning being there have been cases where it has caused miscarriage, stillbirth, birth defects. It states this in black and white. I am not an idiot. And I did not make this up. I even personally asked my doctor about this, and she told me it was correct, and it doesn't happen to EVERYONE, but it CAN HAPPEN.

This girl on this website running her mouth like I'm insane is just stupid. Obviously, plenty of women drink this tea and their babies are fine, but I don't drink the tea personally just because id rather not risk it.

IT'S CALLED PERSONAL OPINION.

and if someone posts a status ASKING if GREEN TEA is safe or not, I'm going to state this exact status. Because it COULD BE dangerous.
Get a grip!

Ah! I now see the reason behind it is the caffeine level. I did research how much caffeine was in it before I drank it and I should be fine. 😊 I hardly ever drink caffeine.

@xoamac well, like I said, it doesn't happen to everyone. but it is fact that it has happened. I would just make a personal choice and speak to your doctor. that's all you can do.

Folks need to chill and respect each other's opinion. If you agree cool and if you don't keep scrolling.

It might not be medically founded. No one asked if it was. Several people have asked if it's safe. I gave the information I have read about and the information I was told by my doctor. That's it. Never said it was medically founded. @karnamarie

you are entitled to your opinion and if another mom asks for opinions you are absolutely in the right to offer your opinion some people just get butt hurt when someone has a different opinion... like you said it doesn't always happen but it can happen... I'm the same way when people ask for ways to induce, I've heard bad things that happened to people who tried certain things, but I don't comment on induction posts because I don't want to get torn to shreds

I see your point however, if you do some research there is no official warning against drinking green tea or any other for that matter. Also never was advised medically to not drink it. While you are entitled to your opinion and follow the advise of a book it's not officially medically founded.

this is actually wonderful to know! I'm 36 weeks with my 4th baby and drank green tea in the beginning with him and threw my whole pregnancy with the others and I had no idea this was a thing. I've been craving sobe green tea but I will just cut it from my diet until after he arrives!! I wonder if it was part of my issue with both my daughters when I was pregnant
