@kayloniandkaismommy, Im so sorry your having to go through this my oldest daughter isn't autistic but was diagnosed at 3 with really bad ADHD and global delay and didn't understand potty training and I was always cleaning poop up. she was put on medication to help with her ADHD and with her being on it it took 2 weeks for her to be fully potty trained. unfortunately at 6 years old I have to put her in pull ups at night because she still has accidents. I wish you the best of luck and time and patience she will get there.

You're more than welcome to message me anytime!! I went through my sons all on my own because his dad was never involved with him being diagnosed. So it was all me. And it took a lot of hard work to get my son to where he is now. And I would try the melatonin again. Idk where you live but cvs if you have one has a great store brand liquid that I use on my son

@mandy890, we have done melatonin....my niece is autistic and she has to take it to regulate sleep....it's so much easier to handle when it isn't your child. for some reason it hasn't been working but I'm hoping to start it back up again

@mandy890, thank you. this is all so new to me. everything is getting to me because I'm pregnant and it's only now fully hitting me that she's got an issue. finding someone to talk with has been really difficult and her doctor was refusing to have her diagnosed. luckily she gets help soon

I put him in his toddler bed around 2-3 because he was climbing out of the crib and it was safer to not have him trying to climb over the railing

If she has a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep try melatonin. Most sensory and Autistic children can't regulate their sleep. My son has been on melatonin since he was 2

And then about 3 months after switched to the goodnight pull-ups for bed time. If she's taking her clothes off just be consistent with putting them back on. She may not like a certain material. My son is weird about like jogging pants he doesn't like them. He prefers jeans. But when he gets home the shirt automatically comes off. And for along time he walked around naked lol or just in a diaper or underwear. We did lots of therapy with him. And the older he gets somethings he out grows so it's good

@mandy890, I'm also worried she'll start smearing it on the walls....I just got a ridiculous lease violation for having a non existent dog and am afraid that one day, they will do a surprise inspection and she will do something like that. I just moved her from a toddler bed back to a pack and play because she wasn't understanding she had to sleep....I'm debating keeping her in a crib until she shows me she's ready

Yes it is very overwhelming for sure. And no I kept him in diapers until he was potty trained in the day time

@mandy890, did you keep him in diapers then? she's in pull ups and takes them off whenever....whether they're full or not. we think she has a sensory issue with clothes because if we try to put pants on her to keep her pull up on, the pants come off too. I'm so overwhelmed by it right now.

I can remember waking up one morning to my son playing in his poop. He took off the clothes and diaper and was just smearing it EVERYWHERE lol.

My son has spd so I know exactly what you are going through. My son would do the same. It sounds to me like she's just not ready. I started with my son at 2 and he just didn't understand. He wasn't fully day time potty trained until a little after he turned 4. He is now 6 and is still in pull-ups at night and will be for a while

@mandy890, 2. she understands she has to sit on the potty chair, but she doesn't understand to go. we had 2 very messy accidents today and I'm at breaking point. I even tried putting her potty in her room to see if she would try going on her own, but I woke up the next morning to her throwing it across the room. I thought we would never get to the point where she would sit on it without having a meltdown....but now it's a whole different battle

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
