Hunter was exclusively breastfed for about a week after his birth. He was loosing too much weight and was constantly hungry so the doctors started having me supplement with formula. We started out with Enfamil Newborn. After 2 days of him being on it I noticed he was not feeling right. His stool tested positive for blood. They then put him on Enfamil Gentlease. He seemed a little better on that at first but then within 24 hours I started noticing a large amount of blood in his stool. We went back to the doctors and they told me he had a milk protein allergy and that I needed to cut all dairy from my diet and they put him on Enfamil Prosobee. Things got bad fairly quickly. He had a rash covering his face, neck, back, chest and scalp. The rash intensified on the 3rd night of him being on the Prosobee and we took him to the ER. They said they never had seen a rash quite like it but it did not seem allergy related and looked to be harmless. We went to the doctor the next day and his stools were still testing positive for blood and he was miserable so they put him on Enfamil Nutramigen. His rash was gone in 3 days of being on it. He hated the taste and we had a hard time getting him to take the formula. After 6 days of the Nutramigen his stool was still testing positive for blood. Now here we are. He was just put on EleCare today. If this doesnt help we will be seeing a GI specialist. On top of it all he woke up with a cold this morning. Im feeling helpless.
