@jod1303, thank you :) I think a lot of people just rush into pronouncing words but if you stop and think about it it's not really that hard lol ilyas is a great name does your one for this baby match it? if that makes sense lol

I love the name frankie for a girl but would have her full name as francesca. don't listen to anyone else it's your baby. my MIL didn't like our sons name but because I started calling my bump finnley from 20weeks by the time he was born she really liked the name xx

@jod1303, it's so rude when they say things like that. You pronounce amaryllis like amma-rill-iss, it's a beautiful flower and I wanted a unique name. I know a lot of people won't know how to pronounce the name when they read it but 99% of introductions are done by voice! also my name always gets spelled wrong etc etc... so I think you should just pick the name you want and everyone should keep their opinions to themselves!

I know. It's such a commitment. And I find it hard to name a pet! A baby has that name for life xx

@jem29, how would u say that? my son is called ilyas my sister used to joke sayin he will be called ily i was adamant he would not but it was my oh who started it n it angers me lol xx

I'm struggling with this too. We're calling ours Amaryllis and my grandad thinks it's too weird so he keeps referring to her as Amie and it makes me mad but makes my boyfriend madder and I don't know how to deal with it :( why don't people respect it???

Maybe tell them how it makes you feel? Me and my oh are set on a name but everyone is against it. But I've just ignored people about it because it's our child. But people can be hurtful even when they don't mean it xx
