so what are yall experiences with pregnancy and birth if your doctor told you that you had low iron?

@ankanelly96, you can ask.. i have this blood disorder called beta thalssima that causes serve anemia i pray my levels go up i don't want a blood transfusion

I wish i was at a 9... My iorn is at a 4 or 5 if i go back in a few days dr said i will have to have a blood transfusion right after baby is born

yes if it can be avoided that's always good. my iron was a lil low after the hemorrhaging but they still let me leave, but I also had an appointment to get IV iron after labor so they were ok with that

Idk I went to the er not too long ago & they told me my iron was 9.24 so I'm upset/sad that it hasn't really moved :( but I have faith that everything will be okay during & after labor, I just don't want my son being anemic

my Dr hasn't put me on iron supplements just told me to eat iron rich foods and never skip a day of taking my prenatal @teamblue040416.

Mine is mild as well, I'm at a 9 when normal is 11, dr put me on iron supplements so I'll be checked again Thursday where I am at now. last time I was checked was 2 months ago

if it's mild I'd just take an iron tablet everyday, it'll help and I had hemmoraged when I had my boys. lost quite a bit of blood, but everything ended up fine. I would t worry about it, just eat iron rich foods and or add an iron pill and that can help raise your iron

mine is mild anemic and they said they are gonna check again in 4 weeks

i was told the same

with my daughter they told me a normal level is atound 30

when my blood work came back it was a 9 they said the lowest they have seen and my labor was ok did it natural

my pregnancy with ny first baby wasnt bad besides the dizziness and fatigue my labor tho it was good untill after i had my baby i couldnt stand up at all i kept fainting and as soon as i pushed him out i started to faint started seeing blurry but everyone is different

mine is mild and one of the drs was worrying me saying if I don't get my iron up than I might have to have surgery cuz of how much blood I would lose during birth

The only problem I had during delivery with low iron is they may wanna keep you an extra day because you lose a lot of blood, but they always gave me a prescription for iron pills

birth isnt really effected tho

i eat chalk due to my low iron that's it lol

but they just tell u u can buy a supplement

it does stop u up tho lol

I get IV'S of iron, I'm severely anemic and have been for 14 yrs now. my labor was fine, I did get IV'S thru my pregnancy and they gave me a few extra before I was induced so my iron was very good before labor.
