Should a woman have to ask a man for things that their child need or he should just offer? Should they provide the baby with money so the mommy can purchase the baby's items or the dad show just buy them. What do you ladies think of this?

I have the boys "dad" go get things for them. I give him a list every 2 weeks of things they need, I never bank on getting it cuz he isn't reliable. But I have him do it

Well if the dad isn't with the mom , or isn't around the baby alot , then yes the mom should ask . If he isn't around very often , then he wouldn't really know what the baby needs . However if he's around all the time then he should know what is needed and therefore should buy it without having to be asked

@2ndtimemommy02, Depends on the agreement between the two parents… ive known men who ask for a weekly list and I've known men that just drop stuff off…ive also known a few that do gift cards to different places so baby gets what they need, no confusion… it depends on what works for the situation

Me personally you shouldn't have to ask .. But I tell my bf what our daughter need and he either go get it or give me the money for it

But obvious necessities like diapers and formula should definitely be bought without having to be asked

I don't think as a parent you should have to say something for the other parent to do something. As a parent making sure your child straight should be a priority

depends on the relationship you have with the father

Some men, especially if this is the first child or their other baby's mom did everything need to be told what a baby needs in the first place. Some men don't know anything and need to be treated accordingly. So I wouldn't just assume I would talk it over and decide how you want to handle things. He just might be ignorant.

I think it depends on the relationship and agreement that the parents have. I am married to my children's father, but I always have to let him know when the baby needs diaper and formula. And that's only because I do everything for the baby but for our oldest son, he usually just buys things for him without asking.
