My SO's piece of shit mother claimed him on her taxes this year, completely fucking us over. He hasn't even spoke to her in almost 2 years & just because shes super butt hurt about us having our daughter & the fact that she will never have a relationship with her, she digs her hole deeper. We were going to use the money to get a car that we NEED, & now we're up in the air about how much hes getting back :/ ugh its so frustrating....

Can't you turn her in for that? I'm pretty sure that would flag on her income tax when they looked at it

I think if he lives away from her and makes a certain amount the entire year then she's not suppose to claim him or it'll flag but I'm not completely sure 😒

For sure she'll get audited. Yes you can report her. My pos dad tried to claim my brother while he was in college and had his own income and got audited. Hope it all works out @annabellemaesmommy

Yep, as long as he can prove he paid more than half his living expenses, she cannot claim him. And they will go after her.
