how benefical are epidurals? I'm getting really scared because I'm hearing all these women in the hospital screaming and don't know if they went all natural or what's going on...
We are made to do this. Epidurals slow down labor and make it to where you are not allowed to get out of bed. You must give birth on your back which is the worst position to be in. Not natural at all.
I feel like if you're planning to go natural I would go in as educated as possible and make sure your OB is supportive of your decision. Birthing naturally doesn't have to involve screaming (birth can be beautiful and calm) if you take the time to prepare your mind and body. There are lost of classes, books and other resources out there to help you through it. It's all up to preference. But some benefits to not having it are no catheter, you can move around during labor or even shower which helps with pain and you don't always have to be constantly monitored.
if I could do my first birth all over again I would go natural... in my case it stopped my dilating and I ended up with an emergency c-section after 24hours of labor
this was the second woman I've heard screaming and I can't do that.. it's stressed me out to much I'm for sure getting epidural
epidural was AMAZING! There is no way my body would've relaxed without it. It made the process go so much smoother for me. When it came to pushing, I was able to feel a LOT of pressure so I was able to focus on my pushing and my body was in complete control without all the pain. It was the most amazing experience ever! I let out a couple screams while pushing because of how hard I was baring down and the pressure just wasn't going away. Once baby came it was the most amazing feeling ever.
i had an epidural with myfirst and all natural with my second and yup i was defiantly screaming with my second lol
I hated the epidural with my first. I felt completely out of control of my body and it totally ruined my labor experience. Also it slowed my labor and they tried to strong arm me into an unnecessary C-section. (I fought them and ended up with a vaginal) Some people love them some hate them. Just make sure it's your choice and you feel in control.
Those screaming are definitely without the epidural. That was me until I got the epidural. Then I was relaxed and taking a nap.
Most of the time the screaming is whole they are pushing and even women who have epidural screaming because they are trying to push so hard
I refuse to have a baby with no epidural
