Laying in bed, crying my eyes out. How I will be able to pay $300 every visit for prenatal care, pay my rent and still have money left to put food in my mouth? This is not something I want to stress over, but it seems unavoidable. If I can't pay for prenatal care, will they turn me away? On paper I probably make too much for for Mcaid or any assistance. Just don't really know what to do. I know having a baby isn't cheap, but I'm really worried if I can't pay for care while my child is in the womb, how will I manage once baby is here?
thank you! I really hope I can get some kind of assistance. thank you ladies for your advice and support! @elliesmom @emily18234 @daybaby3 @0816mommy @foxtrox @jessica0830 @twinscomingsoon @kiwkisses @maimommy31 if I missed any of you guys, sorry. 💕
I'm almost positive I read Any pregnant woman is accepted to Medicaid in Virginia fingers crossed for you!!
yeah, I purposely missed it lol cause I rarely get sick and my son is on his father's insurance. for me to be single and paying all bills alone I need that $108 dollars every pay period that's how much I use to pay smh I make way over $11,000. and they gave me medicaid but I also didn't have any other insurance tho.
Yes, I have insurance through my job, but my deductible is stupid high. and I don't get sick like talking about to pay it, before my insurance will start to cover anything. @slicchic55 I am currently in the process of applying for Mcaid, Snap and WIC (appt is Thurs). I'm just waiting for results of Mcaid and Snap. I'm hoping that I won't make too much, but I looked online and it said if your income is over 11,000$, it's unlikely I'd be approved. It was very disheartening reading that. @foxtrox @0816mommy
I'm not sure how your state works for insurance. When you are pregnant in my state(NY), you can supplement your insurance to help pay for your prenatal care. Do you have any insurance now?
and you can apply for WIC. I am already approved for that. it helps out a little bit.
I'm in process of applying for medicaid. turn my stuff in tomorrow. I simply dont have the money to pay when they take all my labs.
if you don't have insurance they can't deny you medicaid. I missed the enrollment for my job and I make too much to get stamps, only $16/mos and they gave me medicaid for pregnant women. just apply
Yeah, ik. I just have to locate another Dr or find a clinic first.@kiwkisses I just find it ridiculous that I'm being billed for a delivery fee that hasn't even happened yet.
try and look to see if they have woman's pregnancy clinic that offers free service and by law your job had to let you off to go to necessary appointments
I haven't been able to find time to locate one with work and such. and I work 9to6, and places are usually closed when I get off. @emily18234 @kiwkisses
it really sucks that my state won't expand the income range. but I'm not try a quick my job just to qualify for benefits. but thank you, wish you the best too. @jkplants215
I'd look into a different care provider. You will also be charged for all your blood work and testings as well as each ultrasound if you are going through a private care provider. I pay 350$ a month but have also received bills as much as 2000$ for blood and other testing.
I'm dealing with the same thing! I'm currently the only one working and its going to be like that for awhile and apparently I make to much for mcaid so I'm in the same boat. I wish you the best, I'm sure you'll be able to figure something out!
If you are pregnant, the income level is higher. I am in the same position. My.insurance through my work covers nothing and I have a $3000 deductible. I make too much for Medicaid normally. However, when you are pregnant, they raise it(at least in NY). I just want the delivery to be covered. I hope it all works out for you. Let me know what happens with your application.
