do you have to get a catheter for labor??

@hermommy, I've never heard that you had to have one honestly. I'm hoping to go natural with these babies to.

@ali23 I'm not scared of a C section at all, as long as she is here safely idc how she gets here. I am just against Epidurals period I'm hoping I won't be made to get one :/

the bad thing is that u never know how is gonna go :( i remember skipping the c section part of my book bc for what right lol and ended up with one.. is not a scary thing to get one i promise i was in so much pain they tried pitosin pills and other medicine ( anesthesiologist had an emergency so wasfnt able to get there fast) but as soon as they put the epidural i felt nothing lol nurses talked to me while i was getting it and didnt see the needle either .. my husband did lol he said it was.huge but is not as bad.. or at least it wasnt for me.. but contraction those were bad

i had one with my c sections didnt feel a thing... it might depend on the drs and anesthesiologist.. i have had two epidurals and im wallking just fine.. is a rare case of getting paralize my mother in law used to tell me that so i wouldnt gwt it but after 3 days of contractions and 12 hours of labor and dilated to a 9 im.so glad i got the epidural or wouldve end up with an emergency c section....

@jessd1988 thank you. if she's over 7 pounds I have to have a csection anyway due to my hips not being wide or expanding

@jessd1988 I'm sorry you went through that:/ no matter ehat I go through epidural isn't an option to me, I want meds just not that epidural for multiple reasons

I was induced at 42 weeks, I had planned my whole pregnancy to go natural but when they give you the pitocin to get your labor going the contractions are out of this world. I had to get in epidural, I was still able to move throughout the whole time and by the time the baby was crowning it had worn off and I felt everything. no complications with the epidural I was up walking after giving birth. I hope you're able to go natural, I plan to go natural with this baby :)

@hermommy, @ark2208 i had an amazing dr he was so caring they had me stand the day of the c section and sit down the next dAy i did alot of walking i think thats why i healed quick and getting a shower.......will be the best part 😂

I had my son natural and had an episiotomy and a 4th degree tear, 2 weeks later I lost a 2 giant blood clots and was on bed rest for 2 weeks. definitely healed better with the c-section

it was awful! Then I had to walk which sucks of course right afterwards. Then on the second day there the nurse was like oh we don't remove that bandage you'll have to remove it in the shower. praise Jesus I was still so numb, but that will make you light headed!

@akm2208, that's horrible they didn't deflect the bubblw all the way i went to school for medical and I remember my teacher telling me make sure u deflated that because if not ur gonna put ur patients in so much pain! Thats horrible i feel for you 😩 and @harmommy i wouldnt even waste getting the epidural....it didn't even work for me and u also have that possibly of slowing down labor getting the epidural. They pumped so much meds to me and my body just wasn't taken it! Thats why i was put to sleep. I can tell u this tho i rather have a c section then push any day lol i healed quick! The sewed me from inside and then glued me and i was healed in probably 3 weeks if that!

@akm2208 oh goodness😩 I've just heard there is alot of issues after them and the thought of being able to get paralyzed ( there is no way I'd be still) terrifies me😢 @akm2208

my sister had to get a blood patch after hers so I don't blame you! I got the epideral with my son but it was basically all natural because he was crowning as soon as I laid back

after all that I had an emergency c section so I guess it came in handy haha. I couldn't feel anything below my boobs and I had it in for almost two days haha I would pee and not have any clue it was happening. that was the weirdest part. @hermommy

@akm2208 one of the big reasons I won't get an epidural is I don't trust people with my back, and want to go natural😩 I hate catheters I'm sorry you went through that

I had an emergency c-section with my second and they just shoved my catheter in and omg it hurt and then when they took it out they didn't deflate the bubble all the way. With my repeat c-section they put the epideral in first and when I was numb put it in. I had an epideral with my son and didn't have one

i think all they can do is either put you to sleep or epidural for a c- section I'm gonna ask my doctor @hermommy

I had a c section and i was put to sleep because i was feeling everything but they will numb u before they even put it in...well the did for me

Yeah I'm just against epidurals period for my body, so having a catheter is just another reason not to get it for me.. I'm going natural just wanted to make sure I wouldn't need one @deannapooley

I hated mine! they gave me my epidural and she had to wait a little for it to kick in before the cathiter and I had my husband find my nurse because i almost pissed myself. my legs were numb hahaha I couldn't walk. @hermommy

Im gonna be honest ur gonna be in too much pain to even worry about that catheter lol i didnt even no i had one till the nurse came in and said she was emptying my bag lol
