I got a mani/pedi 3 days before delivery and it was fine

never where I'm from, I guess it depends because none of my friends had to either and we all had different doctors and we all keep our nails and hair done.

my sister had gotten her nails done and when she went into labor her Dr. just cut them short

Yes, some doctors will take it off a finger to put the oxygen thing on that finger. Esp fake nails! And if you end up having a c section. Just depends on the doctor @omricruz_mommy
