Breastfeeding is already challenging enough but it is even more challenging when your husband suggest that you exclusively pump or switch to formula every time there is a struggle 😔 I don't like giving up and will not so don't encourage me to. There are good days and there are bad days but me and Levi are still learning each other but eventually it will come easy. I just wish he understood that.
he said to me "she just need to be on formula" as I had a freak out moment cuz she wouldn't really nurse much.... I threw my phone across the room and yelled at him (as I laid the baby in her bed) "I wish I had some f'n support with this, but all I ever f'n hear is she needs to be on formula" his eyes got huge and he said back "I f'n support you what are you talking about?" I said "you have a funny way of showing it telling me to stop nursing and give her formula. yes it would be easier but no one said breastfeeding was freaking easy" I had calmed down a little by that last statement lol... now he says to other people "I am proud she has nursed her this long, it can't be easy"
girl I went thru the same thing, I finally flipped out on my husband and he hasn't said anything since lol
@mrscarterbby, i know in the beginning its so hard, you are adjusting and he is aswell! i had a baby with a toungue tie and honestly it didnt get diagnosed till 2 months and i was dying lol! but i had the worst pregnancy and nothing went right so all i wanted was for him to breastfeed no matter what lol.
My husband was the same at first. They don't realize we're the ones doing it and not them. He'll get over it eventually. My husband eventually did and couldn't be any happier because he don't have to get up in the middle of the night to feed him.
@patgom47, thank you for the encouragement!! The feeding is great it's just getting it started every time that's the struggle... We got this! I'm not going to give up just because it's hard
don't give up! if its a goal keep it :] you're doing great! the bond with the baby is amazing. baby is 4 months and still exclusively breastfeeding and honestly once you get the hang of it, its way easier than having to pump or make a bottle.
@junesmommy15, yea I tried to explain it to him but he don't understand. Me and baby got the breastfeeding down it just take a minute to actually start. But I'm not quitting it's not in my blood 😊
lol it didn't take much that's for sure
