ill be home majority of the time to breastfeed my babies directly from the breast. but I am thinking about getting a pump and bags and everything I need just in case I decide to pump. I'm wishing I could take a class so I can learn more about breastfeeding. I know more now then I did breastfeeding my first. and I really hope to breastfeed my twins between 4-6 months maybe even longer. i m worried about teeth though lol. what kind of pumps have or do y'all use? what do you recommend? I thought about getting electric and hand held. I also read that if your not feeding it's good to pump and it increases your supply. I think I should really find a class so I can be a pro at this. the feeding part wasn't the trouble with my first, more like feeding on one breast too long. then my husband wanting to use formula outside or at peoples houses. he didn't feel comfortable with me breastfeeding in public. I was the one who ended up with a broken heart about it. this time it's my choice. and it should have been then too.

travel bags are such a good investment! I'm getting a pump just in case she won't latch; I'll just pump exclusively and freeze & refrigerate it. I want my daughter to be able to have breast milk no matter what.

I use medela. they have a car adaptor and everything. I always pumped after feedings to help boost my supply and have extra so that my hubby could also feed the baby. Mothers milk tea and fenugreek will also help build your supply.

Babies r us will usually let you know about a breastfeeding class in your area and you should ask your doctor @shannaa24

@shannaa24, Pumping will not increase your supply as it doesn't put out what you really have in your breasts. I recommend the Madela, I used it for my twins as well, but this time around I'll be renting the hospital grade before being discharged as its a much stronger suck. The hand helds really don't do much besides a quick pump to release pressure. You should join your local Le Leche League and go to the free meetings. They have nurses and lactation consultants that will give you advice and help you

@boenischpartyof5, thank you. the whole breastfeeding thing is a little confusing. you never know which way works. and I'm hoping to breastfeed for along time without getting frustrated or sad about it. I really hope my husband will be understanding and helpful this time around.

@shannaa24, I didn't breastfeed with my girls because they had a lip tie and couldn't latch (we decided to wait to get it cut since they don't numb the skin at all) so I pumped and was only able to for almost 2 months. I'm much more committed with my baby coming in July though. Definitely get some mothers milk tea and make some lactation cookies. Eat a ton of oats as that helps your supply too. Even dark beer, like Guiness helps with supply, I would have a glass at night before bed 💁🏼. But yeah I joined a Le Leche League on FB and asked a ton of questions

@boenischpartyof5, thank you. beer is okay to drink while breastfeeding? I never drank while breastfeeding because I heard the babies can get alcohol from your breast.

@shannaa24, it just depends on how much you have. One glass isn't going to do much. I had a Bloody Mary for lunch and then pumped a couple hours later and gave my girls that bottle and everything was normal. If your weary of it then I'd just try a glass of dark beer before bed to see if it helps with your supply. I've met many women who swear by it

@shannaa24, I forgot to add that it's the enzymes or the yeast specifically in dark beer that helps with milk supply

@boenischpartyof5, o okay. I was unsure. thank u
