I'm suddenly super anxious. I woke up this morning and realized it had been too long since I felt baby move. Maybe it's just jitters before our first ultrasound tomorrow, but it's really freaking me out. I've tried all the usual things to wake them up, but nothing's worked so far. There's no real reason I should be worried, but that's never stopped me before. Come on, lazy baby...
@steph11 Yeah I'll have to keep that in mind. I think it has to do with positioning because I found my son's at around this time. When the midwife checked with a doppler a few weeks ago, the heartbeat was strong and easy to find so I'm just reminding myself of that
don't get disappointed if you don't hear much with a stethoscope. it's super hard to do on a full term baby, and before I think like 23 weeks it's very unlikely to find. I couldn't find sadies heartbeat until I was like 33 weeks when I was sure which part of baby I was messing with
@edomke Thank you. That's what I've been trying to reassure myself. And I've always had the feeling that this was going to be a very small baby so maybe they just have plenty of room.
@klove2016 I'll look into it. I'm usually not nervous like this, except right before ultrasounds. My first ever (3 years ago) showed that I was having a miscarriage so I may just have some leftover anxiety. A doppler may be useful for days like this. But be careful using it a lot, they haven't done a ton of research on the effect of the use of sound waves on fetuses, despite their prominent use. But I totally don't mean to preach :) Thank you!
I would, but I don't love the idea of excessive sound waves going through my waters and I know I would use it obsessively. Plus, I'm getting an ultrasound in the morning anyway. But maybe I could go use my mother in law's stethoscope... Thanks for the inspiration @alyen2 :)
I agree with @alyen2 you should order a fetal Doppler. If I didn't have mine, I'd be a nervous wreck all day everyday. Lol I'm 16 weeks yesterday and haven't even really felt flutters I don't think. They're only $40 on Amazon and give you a piece of mind. Plus it's so amazing being able to hear the heart beat whenever you want
You are still really early. It could be the way baby is positioned so you can't feel it and they can for sure have lazy days 😀
yeah it's not like that with a stethoscope. I love to play with mine, when I was pregnant I'd freak when I couldn't find it even though I could constantly feel her
