So I love the way my friends try to discourage me from delivering naturally because they were too scared to try it. It's the natural order of things for me. My great grandmother was very influential in my life. Growing up listening to stories of how life was before all of these man made techniques came about fascinated me. She gave birth to 7 children naturally and immediately went back to work on their farm afterwards. Her mother gave birth to 16 children naturally. My grandmother gave birth to five naturally. My mom had all of us naturally. It's in me to do but I'm preparing myself. Honestly, giving birth scares me but we as women were built for this. With research and hypnobabies I feel I'll be fine.
@jaklynsmommy, my folks are from the country and there was no choice back then. Now today most of my family gets the epidural. All my cousins have but I'll follow tradition because I'm sappy like that. Lol
Ahhh. Due to health reasons I am pretty sure the doctors will not let me have a natural birth. I will look into that though it sounds interesting. Also your family has some strong women. I'm on my 1st pregnancy and it's been tough I don't think I could have 5 let alone 16 babies.
@jaklynsmommy, it's a program that teaches you how to calmly have a baby naturally. Similar to hypnosis but you are very aware of everything going on around you. Great videos on YouTube. Search hypnobabies births.
@melinda89, I wish you all the best. I'm sure it will be a beautiful experience.
I will say, I used an epidural with all three, however I encourage you to go natural. Actually I just call it drug free. Anyways I am on my fourth, and I plan on a drug free birth. I don't want an epidural at all, I want to experience stuff I didn't get to experience with my other three. I wanted to go drug free with my second, but the complications we had the epidural actually was to help her.
I'm planning all natural as well. I always hear the "oh my god, why would you want that?" People just suck. I'm soooo excited for birth and have absolutely zero fears of it. I watched my mother give birth to my two youngest siblings so I think that helps with my choice. Good luck, I think it's an amazing decision!
I think it's awesome what your doing! :) Good luck momma
