well the problem is.. he just put in his marriage licenses.. so now we gotta wait for BAH and all that other stuff and it's so stressful because I just want to know if my baby is growing the way it should.. I mean everyone says I'm okay because i don't have no pain but I still need reassurance..

Once you're in deers you'll automatically have tricarestandard. Enrolling in prime is just one more step, but it's not hard at all.

he went to Deers Tuesday I think said he got that done now he has to finish some paper work for the BAH. @kaylabby22

He doesn't have to be with you to get your ID just ask what of his information you need and you will need you social security card, birth certificate and your marriage license and you can go get the ID. It can be a long wait time but once you get your ID you should be ok. Things may have changed I had to do that in 2006.

No nothing has changed... My hubby waited till last min as well I just took everything with me to DEERS and got my ID the same day. Once u do that then get on Tricare and sign up for premier unless u wanna see a doctor office outside of base I was told standard u pay $18/a day u have to stay in the hospital

Gotcha. BAH and insurance aren't related so as long as you're in DEERS and you get your ID you can go to a doctor. Like I said, enrolling in prime is an extra step, but you can always get that first appt under standard and switch to prime after if you choose. And start memorizing his SS# now - you'll need to know it for almost anything military/paperwork related. And @suprise4 is right - take your SS card (make sure you've changed your name, if you're going to), birth certificate, and marriage license.

when I went to get my ID I just had to take the piece of paper they gave me but It may be different for you cuz we was married already when he joined

yea I went through the same thing when I got pregnant @sarahwilliams I had to wait for my new social security card and stuff so I can get insurance and didn't get to check on my pregnancy right away but I did go to the hospital because I wanted to make sure my baby was ok @sarahwilliams

@carlitojrmami, are you able to go without any pain and they will check the baby..? I just feel like if I show up and say hey can you see if my baby is okay they will look at me like are you stupid?!

@sarahwilliams, I just told them I'm not able to go to the doctor right now can you please check on my baby . I just want to make sure he or she is okay .
