So I hear drinking a beer every night or every couple nights after dinner before bed can help bring in milk supply , I'm assuming it's because of the yeast in beer .. Has anyone done this / heard of doing this and it really working out well ? If so what kind of beer ?

plus alcohol inhibits your letdown. so it seems like it helps your supply bit it doesnt

@jade90kdcicg, no problem. I'm part of a breastfeeding group on fbook and most of those women do extended breastfeeding (2+ years) and they are very educated on what is and isn't ok. I breastfed My daughter for 14 months but never tried it due to the fact beer makes me gag just smelling it... lol

1 beer is fine. after baby is born it helps with supply. but only 1. and you don't have to wait anytime for it to be out of your system because 1 beer is practically nothing. it's the yeast that helps. that's why it takes only 1. and it's dark beer that helps best.

it's dark beer like guinesse. the Brewers yeast is what helps

It might help milk come in but you can't give the baby the milk until it's out of your system so really... There's way better things to try haha

Yes I have heard of this but only after baby is born is what you're talking about, right? Also the answer to your question is DARK beer.

I've honestly never heard of this but it does make a little bit of sense. Post this in the breastfeeding news feed and see if any of them have input.
