So my due date is quickly approaching (April 7th). 😊 But I haven't talked to my baby's dad in two months.. he was abusive and I finally made the decision to get away and stay away. I don't want him to have anything to do with my daughter because of the way he is. He hasn't attempted to even ask how my appointments have gone to see if she's doing okay or anything since the last time I saw him, which was at the end of November. Today his 5 year old son's mom messaged me on Facebook saying how he was trying to get ahold of me but doesn't have my number because he broke his phone and that he was wanting to get ahold of my because "it's getting close to that time." Am I the only one who thinks this is totally wrong and unfair? I have been pregnant this whole time and my main priority EVERY day is my baby girl, not just since she'll be here soon.. it seems so unfair to me that he can be out doing his own thing, not even checking on how she's doing and then out of nowhere think that he's going to around for her birth and her life. I told her to tell him to kick rocks. I would never have thought I'd be the type to keep my child away from their father, ever. But in this situation I feel it's 100% necessary. He was both physically and mentally abusive and I don't want that kind of influence anywhere near my daughter. Am I wrong?

Side note: he only sees his son when it's convenient for him or when it will make him look better for a girl. He doesn't ever pay his son's mom child support which they personally agreed on as to avoid court. The whole time we were together he only had his son when I suggested that we take him, whether it be for the day, a night or the weekend. If that's the way he his with a child he already has, why do I have any reason to believe he'll be any different with my daughter?

if he is abusive then it's not safe for the child. if he can hit a woman he can hit a child. and honestly no you don't need to let him be there when she's born and if he tries to just show up tell the hospital you don't want him there and they won't allow him there.

don't feel bad you're keeping your baby safe and that's what a mother supposed to do you screw that other girl she's going to hit you up for him he sounds like an awful person and just because he can make babies doesn't make him a daddy

@francesgln92, I definitely don't want him there and I'm going to be very careful about who I tell that I'm in labor because I don't want it getting back to him! And I'll be sure to tell the hospital staff and hopefully that works because he's crazy and I'm scared he'll show up and make a scene..

@mrsdiaz2014, yes she's all drama! she always tries to ask how I'm doing and how the baby is and what I'm gonna name her and all this stuff and I just don't answer her. Not even worth it. And my thoughts exactly! I'm just worried he's gonna try to take me to court and I don't even want him to have visitation. I'll lose it.

yeah they ask you when you go in to l&d who you want in the room with you and who is allowed to come after you give birth just tell them his name and when he asks for your room number at the front desk gheyll tell him has not allowed up and if he makes a scene then they'll have security escort him out

Don't feel bad! I know it's hard but you don't want yourself or your daughter in that position. As a kid that grew up around and abusive dad and seeing what it did to my mom as I got older and understood what was going on, her leaving him was the best thing she did. He's a lot better now but that was after 12 years of prison and rehab. 21 years later and he finally has a relationship with his kids again but the childhood part sucked. You just have to do what's best for you and your little girl.

I really hope so! And I'm soo glad the hospital I'm delivering at has the security system so he can't try to steal her or something.. Haha @francesgln92

I doubt that they would give him visitation if you did try to take you to court anyways because he would have to prove that he's a good dad and since he doesn't even see his other kid I don't think that they would let him see your kid but she never know I would just avoid it altogether and pick a hospital he doesn't know you're going to be delivering at and like she said tell him you don't want him to be allowed to be in there at all whatsoever

You're welcome! It does suck being a girl not growing up with a dad to show you certain things but you learn that there's grandpa's, uncles, close guy friends that can easily do that. And I'm sure you'll find someone who treats you and her right and can take on the role as a real father even though it's not biological. I've seen it a lot around here, some boyfriends are better dad's the the real ones. Just put yourself and your daughter first and the rest will fall into place 😊
