some food are high in iron. you may be able to avoid the iron pills.

you can get them over the counter. they re not expensive at all! I mean prenatals. and of you don't have insurance tell them and they can help you out

my insurance still requires out of pocket pay. and when I say we can't afford prenatals. I literally mean we don't have 8 or 9 bucks to spare like that. my boyfriend's paychecks just barely make odds meet with rent, utilities, car insurance groceries, and that's not including his gas and cigarette money. my ob says it's fine I'm not taking my prenatals. because I'm so far along and baby doesnt take the nutirents from me anymore. but we just literally can't spare extra money on prenatals and prescriptions like that without going back Into debt with his family. my boyfriend owes his grandparents 2 grand. and then he owes his mother we right around 3 grand bc she covers all the bills If his checks don't come out decent. and he also owes her boyfriend 300 dollars because he's paid some of our bills too. @justmarriedhavingaboy

o boy sounds like you guys need some help. have you gone to the town or dhhs for food stamps or a good bank. local churches often help too! definitely sounds like you need it.

Your right my dr said after a certain time not taking prenatal is not going to affect the baby but if you need iron you should get I don't have much money but I'd send you those if you really needed message me when you find out one mom to another

@justmarriedhavingaboy, we're trying. they just denied us for food stamps. and my WIC office is a pain and keeps hanging up on me when I try to set up an appointment with them. and I have no way to get down there during the day, Sebastian works 7-4 by the time we can get ANYWHERE they're closing or already closed.

I was told that if your ob writes a script for your prenatals meijer fills them for free. a friend of mine was a pharmacy tech there and told me about the great things the company does for people regarding medications

@chichi1975, that's an amazing gesture thank you I was guna say the same. @xbbycolletto ask and you may recieve. there's plenty of things that will help. like some of us if you need ask. I'll help just let me know with what.

@jwest267, I've never heard that. everytime he's written a prescription I've still had to pay the out of pocket fee.

Ugh I'm sorry to hear that if I was closer I would take you cause that is just silly to hang up on people being a business and if you need help with iron pills just let me know baby is most important and mommy being healthy for her/him

I won't let you do without either if it comes to health. If the dr wants you to have iron, they may have samples. But let one of us know.

@xbbycolletto, I didn't either! you could call your local meijer to make sure! they cover a lot of antibiotics as well and I think provide some generics for $4. def worth trying and maybe your ob could fax them a script 😁

I've been adulting for about 5 years now but now that a baby is coming into the picture. it's a bigger slap in the face than ever before. we're both freaking out like crazy. but my boyfriend isnt gonna show it because he knows he has to be stronger for the both of us. he busts his ass too much just to have everything taken away in a matter of seconds. and I know as soon as I finish the 6 weeks post partum I'll be finding a job and helping out as much as I can. but it's so scary to sit down and make a budget, then see that you still dont make enough to get by and realize in 4 short weeks your baby is gonna be here.

that's what I have. Tenncare. which is Tennessee's Medicaid. but my branch which I Amerigroup barely covers crap. everytime I've needed to put in a prescription I've had to pay out of pocket. which confuses me because when I lived in SC Medicaid never made me pay a single penny to put in a prescription or to get my needs when it came to medication.

as well as I found our Amerigroup doesn't even cover prenatals that ob's suggest. I sat on the phone and argued with a woman for 45 minutes about why they would make someone chose two options in insurance and not even give them explanations as to what it covers. like... I find Tennessee's way of stuff so ass backwards. in SC they sent me a pamphlet with MULTIPLE choices and descriptions of what the insurance branches cover.

then I find some shit out of the water wrong! cause everytime I have to pick up my meds or ANYTHING they're telling me I needed to pay like 25-30 bucks for it! @thompsonmomma @liveitwithlove looks like I may be giving Tenncare a call tomorrow to see what's up with that. I never get told a dollar or a dollar 50 or anything. if that was the case, then I'd be able to get what I need. this kinda upsets me

Yes! You need to give them a call and find out what's up. A few times at the pharmacy they have tried to tell me that there was something up with the insurance and that I would have to pay the full amount every month. Thankfully I called up to the health department and they fixed it
