Question!
I'm 28 weeks and plan to breastfeed. I haven't started leaking and know that sometimes it occurs after you have the baby. How long should I wait to order my breast pump? My insurance covers it (a starter Medela) but I'm afraid I won't be able to produce!!
Also what is a recommended newborn formula in case I don't produce milk? I want to bring some with me to the hospital.
Thank you!

Formula varies depending on how your baby reacts. Call your insurance and see how they work wth ordering pumps - mine won't allow me to get it until I'm in the hospital

@stasjafawn, I spoke with them and all I have to do with one company is order it online. Then I get it within about 2 weeks (verifying insurance/that I'm pregnant and shipping time)

the hospital has formula already, different kinds too. but if your going to start with breastfeeding then the formula should be Similac Supplementing for Breastfeeding Mothers.

Just because you're not leaking yet doesn't mean anything. I never leaked a drop until several days after delivering when my milk come in. I loved Similac Advance, but it all depends on what your baby can handle ☺️

You shouldn't pump at all until 4-6 weeks postpartum. Until then just nurse baby on demand which will be very often. The only way to know if you produce enough is by diaper count, not baby's behavior, leaking, or how much you can pump. As long as baby has one diaper per day old until 6 days and then 6 diapers a day after that.
