So I'm racist for saying I wouldn't mind my daughter being raised with some of the native cultures, since she is part native, instilled in her since that's what everybody demands I do but then I'm called a racist for saying I don't want her raised as a full blown native and taught only the native ways. She's only part native, like 8 or so percent, so she's more white than anything anyway. So, I'm racist for agreeing with people and then I'm racist for saying she's not full native and shouldn't be only taught native? Can't win with these people. Smfh. So many are pushing me, too, to get her registered as a tribal member so she can receive government issued checks and receive gas discounts and all that. Like, no...I don't want her raised feeling like she's automatically entitled to more than others just because she's part native. She's going to be raised and brought up the way I was...not the way everyone else wants her to be raised but were too scared to raise their own children that way.

I dont think the way you want to raise your child is wrong at all. I was very proud of my native roots when I was a child. I never got registered. I never thought my parents were racist because I was raised to be proud of my native, Irish, and swedish roots. It wasn't till I was 21 that I found out I wasn't native at all because the man I thought was my father Isn't lol buuuut I found out my true father and more about my bloodline. I think we should be proud if we are full blooded or just plain mutts. Doesn't make you a racist. Not one bit.
