I feel like parents, mainly mother in laws can be the WORST when you're pregnant. My MIL also couldn't have kids. She had still births, so my husband and his bio brother are adopted. At first, she wasn't happy about me being pregnant either, but she grew into the idea. Sometimes it just takes some time. I'm sure she's happy now. As far as the baby shower, talk to her about what you want. If you want your friends there, let her know. Not speaking up can lead to future problems.

that's how my mother in law is. this is her first grandchild and she's throwing me a baby shower I wanted something small but she rented out the American legion in town cuz she invited over 50 of her friends and co-workers I probably know a out 10 people out of every one who is going it's stressful cuz I'm a shy person

Yeah my mother is throwing me one with all my friends and family two weeks before hers so she's really doing this just for her. Even when I asked to invite my people she was like no @kikibee

Yeah it's like I don't know these people and why do you want to have a baby shower for me since you're so "not excited" about my baby. I'm going to feel so uncomfortable there like I'm just a doll being shown off. @lizzyamcmahan

Why is throwing herself a grandma shower? What are they even going to do? Bring gifts for grandma when she has baby alone? That seems kind of...selfish and over the top.
