Should I feel weird about the fact my boyfriends mom is inviting her friends that I've never met to…

maybe a couple of her friends, as long as you know them too (my mom invited about 5 of hers but I also knew them and have most of my life ) ..... I hope she isn't trying to outshine you on your day

Look at it as she is excited and you are getting more gifts from her friends coming. Everything counts the less you have to buy the better.

@sarahdrew, Yea she's inviting friends I've never met.. My mom paid for the invitations 20 for $10 off amazon she listed off a handful of women I've never even heard of before.. Then she brought over this cute pink shirt and our "theme" is owls her cousin got her owl earrings she's gonna wear.. I don't even have owl jewelry for MY baby shower lol

that's a it odd about her dressing for the "theme".... my lands.... have you or your boyfriend voiced your concerns? I don't want it to go badly if you do.... altho like @madilynn16 and @jncahorn said, it will be more items needed for baby and less you will have to buy

This is tough. It sounds as though she is very excited and maybe a little too gung-ho over this special day. maybe if you just told her how happy it makes you to see her so excited but you definitely saw a different theme. maybe whip out pinterest and show her your theme ideas and see if she has any ideas to add. personally, I would let her invite all she wants. it's great to make connections with her friends because this more than likely won't be the last time you see them.

I might add, my mother and sister in laws threw me a surprise bridal shower in which I knew very very few people. it was awesome to hear all of the blessings and well wishes plus hearing stories of my husband when he was growing up. These people still stop me and ask how all is going. Although a bit overwhelming (I don't like being the spotlight) it was great to feel that level of support even from strangers 😊

consider yourself lucky.... mine was inviting friends to be there for my babys birth. Then she made me feel bad for saying no way. I got in huge trouble for even saying that I didn't want my niece and nephew in the room (7 and 12) or my father inlaw..

I have to half to different baby showers because my boyfriends mom doesn't like anybody in my family 😑 and she is inviting everybody

it is not wrong. It is cool that she is excited about showing off that she will be a grandma. That is a good sign that she will want to be involved. Also, you can have more gifts. My MIL friends brought great gifts and kept her off my back ;)
