ok so I have a rant, and I'm sure I will get a TON of negative comments for it, but I'm going to say…

I would just like to clarify as well that 37 weeks is considered "term" which means most everything is developed and the baby has a very high survival rate and probably wouldn't need any assistance if born. But the lungs could still use a little more time and baby needs to gain as much weight as possible.

40 weeks is considered "Full term"

I would also like to point out that your due date is just an educated guess. Not all women ovulate and conceive exactly the same. So just because your 38 or so weeks doesn't mean you re necessarily that far along.

Your body knows when it's ready. I know the wait those last week's are worse than any morning sickness you have ever had but there is really no way to make your baby come before it's ready

I agree with you. I wish I'd go into labor today but I'm not doing anything to attempt to induce it until next week.

I want to add, I had my repeat c-section at 39 weeks and I was still scared that my daughter would have an issue.... my son was delivered at 32 weeks 4 days and we spent time in the nicu which isn't a fun time

@sarahdrew I underatand. I carried both of mine past term but a cousin of mine can't carry her babies past 29 weeks and had one at 27 week and her second they kept trying to make her labor stop but the second came at 29 weeks so I never took for granted the fact that I could carry full term

I'm only asking at 39 weeks Because I'm not dilating and my doctor said If his weight keeps going up I'll have to have a c section and I don't want that. I won't even start dilating and my OB said she don't think I'll go into labor on my own, and I'm absolutely miserable. It's affecting me at work, affecting my sleep, and I'm always uncomfortable because he hasn't dropped and I can't breathe. So that's why I'm not wanting to wait till 40 weeks lol

I can see that, I also understand not wanting a c-section but I didn't have a choice lol its not as bad as everyone thinks really..... I hope you start dilating tho, so you can have the birth plan you want

I see people asking at like 35 weeks. I hold my tounge all the time. but full term has actually changed to 39 weeks, 37 weeks is now considered early term. @sarahdrew

well sheesh I didn't even know that @nichole_lynn.... that explains why they don't want to schedule c-sections before that

my son came at 38 weeks because I was leaking fluid and the obgyn did not want me to go till 40 week

I never asked to have him early but it happen I wish I could have carried him 40 weeks

@conor2015, you didn't induce yourself you had no control over your circumstance ☺

I was going to be induce by the doctor but my son had other things in mind like let's pop mom's water two day before

I never went past 2 cm over 25 hours and had to have a c section because of it my bf sister baby was 5 days past her due date she got to 5 cm then start to swell up and run a fever so did c section too same docter did both delivery

if it's a doctor doing it that's one thing, but I see a lot of mom's asking how to do it for their own reasons

she kept asking about it we keep saying hold off for as long as you can when ur. baby is ready it well come don't rush it
