Can't decide on a name, well the same name but spelled differently and pronounced different in English and Spanish. Jonah?(English) or Jonás? (Spanish. H OH N AA S, So its not pronounced like Jonas Brothers lol.)
they are all Spanish except for nevaeh lol I like simple names & my boyfriends hates anything I come up with yesterday we found a few that we both liked I think we may have her name but I'm still not sure about it. we had a name picked put before we found out but we focused on the boy name more than we did on the girl name so when we found out we were both like ahhh I don't think I like it lol so now we are back to step one. but I looked on this site called babble they have a lot of names from different origins & like different themes too you should look on there
@aek91, my husband wants Spanish names because he's Mexican, but there isn't many that I like and he says no to the ones I like. So far for a girl, I like Cielo, Amelia, Araceli, and Nevaeh. Not really Spanish but I like em.
but now we are having trouble finding a girl name that can be said in both English & spanish its so hard
yea that's how you say it basically the e is silent lol
@aek91, I had no clue his name could be said in both English and Spanish. its pronounced like Cain, right? same thing with Vincents name. Its Vincent but we all call him Vicente, so spelled different and barely pronounced different.
I would do Jonah & just when people ask in Spanish what his name is tell them Jonas I like the spelling better that way kaines name is said different on both languages as well just the same spelling for both except for the e lol I added that to be different
I'd spell it like you want it pronounced... maybe I misread the question.
@littledannilove, lol well we're in Chicago, there's a lot of Spanish speaking, well that I've seen or the parts I'm around. but true.
Understandable, but if he will be raised here in America and especially Texas, people WILL pronounce his name wrong because most people don't correctly pronounce Spanish words period let alone a name lol
@littledannilove, that's what I'm saying, but then again to me its so different. idunno
@mama.to.zylanna, I want the Spanish but then I don't because I don't want people calling him Jonas(Jonas Brothers) lol sorry that's the only example I can give for the pronunciation. Because it is spelled that way but its said differently in Spanish, and when the baby goes to school, if the baby is a boy, I know that's how the teacher will call him unless they know Spanish
I would definitely spell it the English way, because people will mispronounce his name forever and you don't want that!
I'd use the Spanish spelling, otherwise peole will pronounce it Jonas... because that's exactly how I read it
names that start with an M & can sound good in both english in spanish ? 🤔 HELP !!!!
Naming your baby.
Would you give your baby a name you can't pronounce? Serious question.
Okay ladies so I have a question. So we already picked our daughters name and it's going to be Kailee! I absolutely love the name and spelling but people are already pronouncing it KAY-LEE vs. KY-LEE. So what do yall think how would you pronounce Kailee ?
Defiantly??
I often read "defiantly" instead of "definitely" on here? Why is that? It's not even pronounced "defiantly"! English is my second language, but this particular mistake has been bothering me for a while!!
Name help
Would you have trouble pronouncing the name "Laith"?
