The bottom ring is my promise ring that my boyfriend got me for my birthday last year. The second one is my engagement ring (and the wedding band). He picked the first one out all by himself but I went with him for the engagement ring because I wanted to look at Mother's Day jewelry.. Instead he bought this. However it's being resized and I won't know when he gets it back, when he'll propose, or how. I'm excited and happy that we're moving closer together and all that. However my parents aren't his biggest fans at the moment. We told his parents and they were thrilled! My boyfriend said he wants to take my parents to dinner and tell them about it and I think that's a great idea but I told my mom yesterday because I wanted her to have a heads up and didn't want her to say anything negative. Also I told my older sister (who's insanely jealous of me having a child before her and getting engaged and probably married before her even though she's been with the same man for 6 years now) and she looked me right in the eyes and told me that my father said he wasn't going to walk me down the isle if my boyfriend and I ever got engaged. I feel like my parents are being hypocritical. My dad was far from perfect growing up, he just recently decided to become closer to his kids and his wife (my siblings and my mom). And my boyfriend HAS shown change and they still won't give him a chance. They're excited for baby Owen to be born but if they don't quit with the judgmental talk behind my back then I won't have them in my sons life. My boyfriend is the ONLY reason I graduated high school, went to college, got my license, have a home, a new car, and my baby boy. I don't see why my parents can't just drop the bull shit and see that I've got a man who loves and takes care of me and their grandchild. Anyway sorry for the rant just have a lot on my mind I'm excited yet annoyed with my family. Lol
