I made my great gramma a quilt with my grandpa's shirts. She loves it
@jadestarlight, it is. 4 of my grandparents have suffered from it and both of my husbands grammas. I helped care for his dad's mom before she passed and I was pregnant with our little boy that we named after her husband. I told her that it was baby Hyrum in there and she would just hold onto my huge 9 month belly and tell him she loved him. she died a week before he was born. It so sad to see her mind go like that
I'm going to cry. that is such a precious gift you gave her. Alzheimer's is so tragic
@addi-maesmama, @jadestarlight @southernmomma89 she has Alzheimer's disease and I saw her today and she told me all about the blanket and I said "you know that I made that blanket for you, gramma" and she gave me the biggest hug and told me all about it again. It made her day. It's on her bed and she rubs the shirt squares and says "this was Ivan's shirt" and just runs her hands on it. I loved seeing her so happy with it
@nharri22, it is I've taken care of quite a few people with Alzheimer's. It is just awful to watch.
