Would anyone want to share their c-section experience & recovery time with me?
I'm having to make the decision on whether to have a vaginal delivery or c-section. I had a 4th degree tear with my first baby & am afraid where the scar tissue is already there that it'll happen again.

@mommyslove, No lol its a lot worse. Its the most severe tear you can have, and isn't too common. I had a very large baby (9 lbs 3 oz) which is a large part of why it happened. It's a tear through your cervix, muscles, anal cavity and muscles. etc. So basically I tore my butt open too lol. Its terrible & hurt for over 3 months afterwards.

I had an emergency c section with my first. your in the hospital for a few days after. honestly it hurts to walk or move lift your legs or even go to the bathroom for the first to weeks. but if you just go on short walks it heals a lot faster. they closed me with this glue stuff instead of staples so I didn't have to go back and get them removed the glue just comes off in the shower in like 3 weeks. I'm still a little numb around my scar but it's not like crazy numb just feels weird when I touch it. You have the option to use a belly band and seriously use it! helps so much more!! So ask for it! I had two bad experiences I guess they pump you up with some gas stuff in your belly and the gas can go into your should and it feels like you threw it out for a couple days it hurt and was annoying to say the least. The other bad thing was they put some type of bandage on it while your in the hospital and I was allergic to the latex on it and my skin was burned by the latex right by where they just cut me open..

@abrooklynn, This might sound dumb & i apologize lol but is a fourth degree tear the same as when you just tear during labor ? Or is like more complicated because with my first I got 3 stitches so would be the same ? I'm so confused 🤔😶

I had to have an emergency c-section, it really isn't that bad. For me the meds made me shake REALLY badly, like my teeth were chattering and I couldn't stop shaking. When they are in there you mostly feel just a bunch of pressure. Especially when they pull out baby, it doesn't hurt but it's obviously there. They clean up baby bring them to you for a minute or two then you get all stitched up. Recovering wasn't easy, I had my son at 8pm and my nurses made me get up and walk around by 10am. It definitely hurts for recovery but thank goodness for pain meds
