so I've been thinking about breastfeeding bc of the benefits of it and EVERYONE keeps saying how I'm not gonna make it
...it's too painful etc.... im just soooo tired of the foolery
It hurt for me at first just because my nipples weren't used to that much action lol, but it gets better after a week or two and it's so worth it. I breastfed my daughter for a year. It was the best decision I've ever made!
if you are breastfeeding correctly, it's not supposed to hurt. at least that's what I heard.
and I'm planning on breastfeeding as well.. you can do anything you set your mind to!
U can do it find one good support system it will help .. Once u get passed the two week mark it will be ok .. It does hurt .. I found by rotating the way I held my babies to the breast helped ease pain ( such as reg hold , next football hold) etc...
Honestly it really depends on the person I just started breast feeding and when I do it really don't hurt. Everybody is different it's really either a hit or miss but I would tell ppl to at least try it
In days worth of my medical records from my 2nd son's birth it said they didn't expect me to be able to breastfeed... That was coming from a breastfeeding friendly hospital. the doctors figured most women who had gone though what I had and babies who went through what my son did wouldn't have success breastfeeding but I was determined and we made it work. I think in most cases if there's a will, there's a way =]
your OK @tokey2 , that's not very nice of them to be doing that. but I believe in you girl. I'm going to be breastfeeding as well and people often tell me the same thing but I don't pay them no mind.
I wasn't discouraging .. I was just saying.. lol @tokey2 no where did I say that you weren't capable. now if I said that, that would of been discouraging. but good luck 😃😘😇
That's kinda rude to shoot you down that quick. It's not easy to breastfeed for a lot of women (I couldn't do it with my first) but with a good support team, determination and research on how to make it work you will more than likely be successful in doing it!!! If you have Facebook see if you can get into the BRAS Breastfeeding Resource And Support group. It's a bunch of women who have gone through all the struggles you can think of and are breastfeeding their babies. It's a great page. Just keep an open mind and see how it goes as you get further along.
That's horrible for them to say. You are perfectly capable of breastfeeding. It was the worst pain for me and the emotional toll was a lot to handle, but I'm still going strong and my daughter is one years old today. You can do it!
