Well I'm very happy with my results from using the light and my baby is happy and healthy and that's all that matters if that works for you then that's all that matters:-) @bsb0093
My son was only on formula and his lasted till we got home and put him in the sun I refused the bili light. And if my daughter gets it when she's born I'll do the same thing I'm a medical assistant and learned all this
I have a friend who's daughter had jaundice and when she switched to the formula it helped hers go away it's not what they're eating it's about insufficient production or intake of breast milk. That why they also do so many weight checks in jaundice babies @bsb0093
We did the phototherapy bed I did open up the blinds so she was getting sun light too just way to cold to be out and about outside. If her levels wouldn't have gone down we would have had to switch to formula too. I can understand why they poke so much cause our baby's levels jumped around so much I'd rather be safe than sorry. She handled the pokes really well I just hated leaving her in her crib on lights all day long. Luckily hers is all better! @bsb0093
Doctors tried the same thing to my friend and her newborn and tried to tell her the jaundice came from breast milk so a week after she got discharged baby still had jaundice and mom was formula feeding and she continued pumping cause after she got the ok she was going back to breast milk well I told her to put the baby in the sun and go back to breast milk sure enough a day or so later it was gone. These doctors do to much now a days than what needs to be done
@kira151, she has finally gotten off everything and she is 8 days old today. She still has levels of 14.9 so she still looks kinda yellow but she has been leveling out in the beginning if she was off of the lights her levels would shoot up.
