#*Rant*# my ob is stupid. went in on monday for my regular appointment. the nurse lectured me about getting my uti treated. she sent me meds in. I started taking the meds. and she calls this morning saying I dont have a uti. so im taking meds for this damn thing (which are making me sick and feel like poo) that I dint even have. ugh I really wanna call her and bitch her out.

well, if they had to grow a culture of bacteria it can take a few days to grow enough bacteria from your urine sample for them to know for sure what it is. so what originally showed as a uti, and does need to be treated right away during pregnancy because it's dangerous if left untreated, can turn out to be a different type of bacteria. I'm sorry you don't feel good, but that is unfortunately how medicine works. I had the same issue, I presented as having a uti for 3 appts in a row, and had the symptoms of it, which faded with antibiotics, and came back as soon as I finished my pills. we never figured out what it was, but it eventually stopped on its own. I would much rather my OB be extra careful with me and my baby, personally.
