my daughter started at 6lbs 13oz and ive been breastfeeding her for 2 days now but the nurse just told me she weighs 6 lbs and im being discharged tomorrow. .. I really wanted to just breastfeed with this one, I formula fed my other baby but she kept spitting it up and we had to keep switching till we found the right one... it just upsets me because I thought I was doing so well
the nurses said she has lost 2oz to much so I have to start supplementing and pumping.. im bummed but I know its for her health. I guess I just got my hopes up to high
It is normal for baby to lose weight the first few days. keep on breastfeeding whenever baby wants and she will pack those ounces and pounds on.
My daughter came out to 6lbs 15oz and two weeks later she was 6lbs. Two months later (today) we went to her pediatrician appointment and shes 12lbs 😊 She was breastfed for a month and a half and now I formula feed her but she still gained weight when I breastfed her. So no worries momma!
All babies lose weight during the first week or two, they can lose up to 10 ounces. They will surpass their birthweight by a month old so don't worry you're doing fine!
yes I was going to say the same baby's will lose some ounces in the first couple of days don't feel bad just don't give up its not easy but well worth it :) good luck
My daughter is 5 days old and she went from 6lbs 13oz to 6lbs 4oz. Her doctor just said to let her eat as much as she wants, as often as she wants. Don't give up mama.
