so my last appointment they found protein in my urine, trace of blood and my blood pressure was high. well now I'm starting to get blurred vision ( were I can't even see) and spots in my eyes. And then it will go away. also I haven't been able to eat and now I've lost alot of weight and now weighing 114. anyone have any ideas of what's going on
Oh yeah @auuuribs that's real effective.. "Calm down or you'll seize!" Are you kidding me?! I wouldn't have been able to stay calm for that either. My hospital story is weird. I didn't necessarily have Preeclampsia symptoms but I checked my blood pressure at the store and it was high. Had a weird sensation in my ear but didn't think anything of it. But I called the hospital and told them about my high blood pressure readings and that they weren't getting better (at that point I was monitoring it at home) and the hospital said since I didn't have other symptoms they weren't worried about it but I could call the nurse. They gave me the wrong number so I went into the hospital anyway and they admitted me, gave me the steroid shot, put in a catheter, and a few hours later my ob Doctor told me he didn't want to deliver my baby at 28 weeks so I was flown to the big city hospital 2 hours away where I stayed for a week before HELLP complications.
@Kimberlyyyy, I had severe preeclampsia borderline HELLP. my anxiety took a huge roll in the whole ordeal. I was preeclamptic but went into overdrive with BP when I got admitted thanks to the doctors telling me if I didn't calm down I would have a seizure.
@auuuribs was your lil one early too? Did you get HELLP, or just preeclampsia?
@Kimberlyyyy I totally agree. Being on Mag for a week straight was the WORST. hated life. similar story to yours!
No problem. If you think about it, tag me && let me know how things go after talking to your dr
@kimberlyyyy, I will. thank you so much for taking the time to explain things and talk to me
Well, tomorrow make sure you address all of your health concerns. Remind her of your previous pregnancies and deliveries and tell her you want to come in more often just for a quick check. Make a list of everything you want to talk to her about. Ask her if she thinks you had eclampsia last pregnancy and if that qualifies you for extra monitoring. Be firm that you don't feel right and that you're worried about this pregnancy. If she doesn't listen maybe you can report her to your states medical board and file a complaint or something if she's not willing to listen.
@kimberlyyyy, I know and I ask her all the time what's going on and she can't ever tell me. my pcp is very concerned but can't do anything because she's my OB
omg @kimberlyyyy he's so tiny. I've been really stressed and scared of all this . idk what to do
Is there a way you can see a different doctor? Because it seems like you may have been misdiagnosed (as in, they screwed up and didn't diagnose you).. If you were seizing I think you had eclampsia and that's serious. And if you've already had pregnancy complications like that I'm truly amazed they're not monitoring you more often.
my doctor is the same doctor that has delivered all my kids. And when I had seizures when I was in labor with my last pregnancy she claims she don't know what happened. idk what to do because my pcp was very concerned at my last appointment with the protein in my urine but my OB didn't seem concerned. but my OB is the only one in my town so she is overwhelmed with patients
Did you have full blown eclampsia????? If you were having seizers I would guess you did. Your doctor is aware of your past medical history right? If I were your doctor i would put you on bed rest.
I had to set in a room for 2 hours by myself to get my blood pressure down when I was pregnant with my son
I'll be sending prayers your way. If your symptoms continue or get worse I'd try to find some way to go to the ER tonight. But if not at least you'll see your doctor tomorrow. I know it's scary. And I really hope everything is ok. Keep me updated!🙏🏽🙏🏽
my last pregnancy I had seizures while I delivered , so they had to vacuum my daughter out. And my pregnancy before her I had bleeding inside with the baby . @kimberlyyyy
Did you have complications in your other pregnancies?? Not to freak you out but I delivered at 29 weeks because of severe preeclampsia and other issues.
I would go to the ER but have nobody to watch my kids right now so I have to wait until tomorrow
I'm just scared and wanted some comfort. @babyanakin @kimberlyyyy capesy91 @jemmoool @hannahbanana @
I love children you guys but its a lot of consequences of being pregnant
@kimberlyyyy, that's what it was +3 protein. I drew a blank for a second
my doctor told me I had protein in my urine but it wasn't as much until where he would have to take her
@babyanakin, @capesy91 @hannahbanana @jemmoool @kimberlyyyy @mylikat_21 @orrwhat
they told me it was called something else because you have to be atleast 20 weeks to have preeclampsia. but whatever it was they called it they said is basically the same as preeclampsia. I'm 14 weeks and 5 days
You're still early into the pregnancy so a +3 for your protein isn't a good sign.
Yeahhhhhh it totally sounds like preeclampsia. Make sure you tell your OB about ALL of your symptoms and feelings so they can monitor you more often. Preeclampsia isn't anything you wanna mess around with.
when I went to my last appointment they thought it was the beginning of preeclampsia @hannahbanana @capesy91 @babyanakin @jemmoool @mylikat_21 @orrwhat
I'm not at the ER but plan to see my doctor tomorrow.@babyanakin, And @jemmoool they are black spots , and today I fell onto the chair because I couldn't see and felt dizzy. I can't hold anything down @hannahbanana . I might get like a little bit of water but as of food I throw it right back up. I'm at 114 now
Sounds like preeclampsia, protein in the urine and change in vision. Hopefully your at the hospital.. Good luck lady.
sounds like preeclampsia you need to get that seen about ma'am don't you know if that's what it is they would have to take your baby via c-section
High blood pressure or developing pre-eclampsia. I would call your doctor or go to er. That can be really dangerous for you as it can cause a seizure, stroke, kidney and heart problems. Also puts strain on the placenta and the doctors will monitor you a lot closer. Dealing with high blood pressure while pregnant is not something to take risks on.
make sure you're eating a little something every 2 hours and drinking lots of water. High or low bp isn't something to mess around with. I've blacked out several times because mine was so low
@dennisbaby, @kimberlyyyy Definitely sounds like the start of Pre-Eclampsia. I developed Full Blown Eclampsia during my last pregnancy, at 37W6D and had to have an emergency C-Section. I had two seizures the day that I gave birth to my Son. My blood pressure was a little high, there was protein in my urine 5 days prior to, I was insanely swollen, headache from hell, and I'd gained 6 pounds; but my Doctor didn't seem too concerned. Then the day that I gave birth to my Son I woke up, same headache from hell, very-very swollen. Then next thing I know my hand starts jerking like crazy, I hit my the table with my hand, and I blacked out; I was out for 30 minutes. I had no idea as to what happened until we got to my appointment and my blood pressure was taken, urine, and weight. BP was high, protein in my urine, and I had gained another 6 pounds. My Doctor told me I had developed full blown Eclampsia, and thought it best that I have a C-Section. I agreed, and he sent me home to get my things since a room wouldn't be open for me for 90 minutes. On the way back to the hospital I had another seizure, the ambulance was called, and I had a C-Section shortly after. I have been told my my Family Doctor (delivered babies for years and years) that I should have given birth to my Son 5 days prior to. I've also been told the same thing by the Doctor that I am seeing now. Thank God that my Son and I are okay, Brantley is perfect.
I am now 34 weeks 2 days pregnant, I will be having a scheduled C-Section. I am seeing a different Doctor than with my two previous pregnancies, she is great. I am being monitored much more closely. During this pregnancy I have been sent to Labor and Delivery to be monitored once due to higher blood pressure, swelling, blurred vision, and nausea. Since the trip to Labor and Delivery, my Doctor started seeing me weekly to continue monitoring me closely. Praying for you @dennisbaby, please keep us updated when possible.
