I feel so defeated. I got a UTI and I have tried getting rid of it on my own for 4 days now and it's only getting worse. So I called my doctor so I could get an antibiotic to help clear it up. Well this antibiotic called nitrofurantoin says I won't be able to breastfeed for 10 days while taking it. Which means I'll have to give her Formula for 10 days and I'll have to pump while she's off my boob. I am so fearful that she will get used to a bottle and wean off of me. I am seriously in tears about this.

When I have them they tell me not to drink anything but cranberry juice and use the bathroom every time I have the urge to. Try drinking some more and then if that doesn't help see if you can get a different prescription.
That's what I've be drinking. I might not be drinking enough
@cmwilliams, have you tried cranberry juice and water?? Really helps me.
I told them I was breastfeeding and this is the one the called in. I am calling first thing in the morning to talk to them again. @wiccanmommy
Did you ask them about antibiotics that are safe for breastfeeding? They show be able to switch them.
Most doctors will tell you to pump and dump because they don't know. Call infantrisk for verification and alternative , edications
