So, I'm breastfeeding my newborn son and I'm on day 3, and my nipples are KILLING ME. Does anyone have any advice or remedies to help ease the pain?
@_twinsmommy1203_, I spoke with 2 lactation specialists at the hospital when I was there and they didn't see anything wrong with how my son was latching. they did say I have short nipples tho.
You can try a warm compress or best if you rub them with a few drops of your own milk. Breast milk has antibacterial as well as healing properties that help treat sore nipples. Also make sure you LO is latch correctly. Sore nipples are caused by improper latch!
Lanolin cream and maybe even some Tylenol. Don't worry it'll pass soon. Your breasts aren't used to being constantly suckled on by a baby.
