random question ladies! is it possible for a child to become allergic to a type of diaper they have used for over a year?

my sister developed a chicken alergy at age 12. it's entirely possible to have alergies that appear later in life

we use luvs and I have never had an issue with them. my daughter developed a rash on her butt cheek and I have been putting ointment on it but now it looks as to be spreading to the insides of her legs too.
