So today at my sons 9 month appointment we were referred to some specialists who are going to do an in home assessment to see what's going on with my son and get him moving and possibly therapy. He is constantly behind and I have always been told he'll catch up eventually until now. He doesn't crawl or stand on his own he doesn't pull himself up on things. He does roll(occasionally) and he will sit for a few minutes if i put him in the sitting position. But eventually he will fall an hit his head. He also cannot sit up on his own(from laying down he can't pull himself up) not sure what to make of it all. I don't think there's anything wrong with he. He does say lots of words for his age but mobility wise he does basically nothing. Long post buuuut anyone else with similar stories ??

Pretty much! @rennysmommy
@brittn, that's how I feel one of my friends has a special needs son and even she says it's pointless
There really is no need for it, I feel as tho Hannah hadn't learned anything with her PT!! @rennysmommy
@brittn, they wanted me to do therapy with Renner but I have just been playing phone tag with them so far and decided to give it up for now since he is making progress
Hannah was going to physical therapy weekly but we quit taking her because she is learning more on her own than she was there, at physical therapy she would literally lay in the middle of the floor and just cry!! @rennysmommy
@brittn, me too!! Everyone's always asking me if he's doing anything yet and I'm like no.. Same ol same ol stop asking I'll let you know lol. He was lunging forward and hitting his face just last week now he is able to get on all 4s on his own. He isn't really doing a lot still but he went from nothing to all these things so were definitely headed in the right direction! They will both get it eventually
Hannah doesn't like being in the crawling position she just falls flat and lays there and cries it's so sad to watch!! And I hate when I'm around other moms and they ask me why she isn't doing so or so yet that their kids were doing it all at this age. It just upsets me soo much, keep your head up he will get the hang of things
@brittn,
He's 10 months now and it sitting on his own still falls but he is able to catch himself. He doesn't pull up on anything yet or even try but is now holding his bottle on his own, rolling, and even looks like he is getting ready to crawl. He's made lots of progress this past month. Still behind but getting there. I still think he may have a learning disability or something but don't think it's anything to make a big deal about right now. And as for being a preemie they always say they're extra behind that does seem kind of excessive. I've been working with him a lot lately( putting him in the crawling positing making him sit up more ) small things like that but I am able to stay home with him so I think this is helping alot
My 16 month old was born 7 weeks early and is just now starting to roll, she can sit on her own but can't sit up on her own if she is laying on her back. She doesn't crawl, try to pull up on anything or even stand with help. We're not completely sure what's wrong with her other than she was born early and is developing slowly
no. but she was and is going to (I call them preemie appointments) where they do things with her and see what she can physically do and when I said she wasn't crawling yet they gave me a list of excersices to do with her to help her learn. @rennysmommy
He holds his head up fine though like he is sturdy but wobbley and he sits good but cannot go from laying to sitting on his own I have to put him like that and eventually he will fall and hit his head on the ground here he is sitting now
@emmajeremy2627, was your doctor concerned? Renner is well behind that he's 9 months and if I put him in the crawling position his butt sits on his feet and he doesn't hold himself up with his arms at all his face lays on the ground
my daughter was 5 weeks early. she didn't start crawling until 10 months and just now at 15 months she has begun to take steps (if you let her hand go but she can't stand up by herself and walk she has to pull up on something to be able to stand) and she just started (if you let her hand go) she will stand for a few seconds by herself @rennysmommy
not as of yet. they are still running tests and trying to figure things out.
