No offense to anyone but this is literally my MIL. I grew up fine without wearing shoes or socks in the house, and my husband swears by it because my mil has put this in his head.

The superstition is that when become pregnant you should wear a safety pin around your belly button area cuz if you don't on a full moon your baby can be born with down syndrome
@lisa155, yea, but my mil never said anything about it. she told me when I was pregnant with my second son that if my first son touched my stomach the baby would come out with a red face(birth mark)
I'm not Mexican and my mom wouldn't let me go to bed or go out side with my hair wet cuz I'd catch a cold. I hardly ever dry my hair now and I'm definitely not sick constantly.

I'm mexican. my mom would always tell me to put some shoes on, or I will get sick lol. and whenever I wore socks, I will get yelled at because I'm getting my socks dirty lol 😂😂
@lisa155, my mother was never superstitious, so every time I hear something from my mil is drives me insane and she gets mad that I don't listen to her because its "disrespectful" even tho these aren't proven.

@canaryv, I never heard of it till I met my mil. the only reason I wear slippers and my kids are because the floor is dirty.

My MIL is planning on staying in the hospital the entire time I’m in labor. I don’t want that. Any tips on how to deal with this? Why can’t my MIL understand that labor is private for us😩 And when the baby is here she’s never going to leave us or the baby alone. She’s really testing my patience😡
