@taybugg40, all kids are different. it affects them different. it's up to you if you want to take the risk or not. and yeah they can choke. that's why on most containers it'll say spoon feed only. many pediatricians will actually tell you to skip rice cereal completely now because there is no nutritional value at all. it's empty calories.

I started at 3 months in his bottle he never choked on it just watch out and make sure he doesn't get constipated. And we started foods at 3&1/2 months my son is a year and has had no problems he is healthy as a horse.

Its no big deal with the cereal love, they won't choke but if you don't watch how much you put in the bottle, they can become constipated is all. When they're that small, rice is the most recommended brand to give them.

Don't put it in the bottle they can choke on it. Wait until four months at least I know it's tempting but I really wouldn't do it any sooner

@nicemmcha2015, yea it's understandable. My son screams so loud and for a good bit when he eats from a bottle and can't burp. And gas pains drives him insane.

I'd wait a couple more weeks at least. maybe till baby was like 3 to 3 and a half months just on the safe side. people kept pushing it with my daughter and I did it once when she was 3 months old and regretted it. she screamed all night.. and I do mean all night. it was terrible. I'm not trying to tell you what to do but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. it was bad

Thanks @blbaker312 he turns 3 months on the 29th. I will prolly try just a small amount here soon to see how he does. Then go from there. Maybe a few nights a week then every other night to every night till he gets about 4 months

I was told cereal at 4 months and baby foods no sooner than 6 months. I started cereal at 3 months and foods at 4 1/2 months and my son is 10 months old and hasn't had any issues.

4 months. it's actually not recommended until 6. if given too soon it can have adverse affects. can cause more harm than good. for example tummy aches and excess weight gain. I have a friend who gave it to her child starting at about 6 weeks and she has to go to a specialist because it screwed up her stomach. their tummies aren't ready to digest solid things that early.

3 months but you can give sooner especially if your going to put some on the bottle
